Reviews for Loews Ventana Canyon Resort

An all time High (at Loews)!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

Loews Ventana, what a great place to be! Booked thru the FHR Amex program and I am pretty confident I would still be just as happy going thru Loews direct. The location is a great place to start. Tucson is a bit of a quirky place but the closer you get to the mountains the nicer things are and the Ventana is literally the foot of the mountain so you won't do much better. The building itself has a very distinct architecture look that I am 100% in favor of. I get Frank Lloyd Wright Arizona Biltmore vibes but it is unique enough that I know it's the heavy use of concrete block that is making me come away with that thought. Either way, the interior is a very cool retro...but not dated look. Pool is a good size, not huge...but certainly better than average as far as cleanliness and wayyyyy above average for food/drink service via Bill's Grill. Constant pass throughs of all types of birds too so that's a neat little bonus. Rooms: Very comfortable beds, extremely comfortable linens. Warm but not suffocating especially when you consider that Tucson in the summer is quite toasty. Shower, huge....water pressure, just right. TV, just right and probably the only user friendly setup I've had in a decade. Flying V was very good and probably worth going to even if you are not staying on property...but luckily I was so even more enjoyable to just walk over. A far better than average hotel....only downside is that you'll want a Loews property everywhere you go. Maybe it's good that they're not reaching too far and spreading themselves too thin but Loews would fit very nicely inside the Hyatt portfolio. Oh......one last thing. Free parking? Yes! In this year of our Lord 2026...they still have complimentary parking. Loews is taking a big departure from everywhere else in these United States and not looked to tack an extra $27 on to every night's stay. Heck...I'd come back just for the parking.

Rhea at the poolside restaurant bar was the highlight of our trip.

This resort exceeded my expectations. We had a lovely room on the 6th floor with beautiful views. I want to personally highlight Rhea at the poolside restaurant. She was TOP TIER in service and attitude. She was funny, charming, informative and you can tell she genuinely loves people and her job!!! We were sad we met her as we were heading out to check into another hotel for a conference. The hour and a half we spent with her was honestly the most memorable moment of our stay. She almost had us wanting to stay another day because we felt like we made a friend when it was time to go. I hope she is there when we return. I also really enjoyed your breakfast buffet and shout out to your host Christopher who was a great first impression. His energy was infectious.

Awful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Food service was awful. Wait staff slow and incompetent. Came here with about 35 people for cycling event. Too many people here and not enough staff. Wouldn’t come back. Too expensive for the service you get.

Our Go To Place In Tucson

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We visited Loew’s Ventuna Canyon Resort for a meeting and vacation. The location is sufficiently isolated for a quiet atmosphere, but close to attractions of Tucson. Our room was very comfortable with two beds, a small refrigerator, television and a patio looking out on shrubs that attracted colorful butterflies. To our left we looked on a Saguaro-studded mountain. Two sizable pools were available, but they did get crowded during the day. The are restaurants with a variety of cuisines from grab and go to fine dining. Hikes both on property and nearby are available. Astronomy sessions were offered one night. We attended three events situated in meeting rooms, an outdoor patio and a ballroom. Service was top notch, the rooms were comfortable and our attendees were very satisfied. Loew’s Ventana Canyon resort is our go to place in Tucson.

Outstanding resort stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I had the opportunity to host a work event and my overall experience was outstanding. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed. We hosted two dinners which were both very good with the staff being friendly and accommodating. One of the nights we hosted a wine tasting event which was also very nice. In the morning we had a great breakfast. Really enjoy my stay
