The Merrion
Upper Merrion Street
Dublin 2, Ireland
We spent my birthday weekend at the Merrion, and it exceeded expectations. The hotel was under refurb but we didn't notice it at all. The place itself is very well located, close to pubs and not far from the center but still removed for some peace and quiet. Our rate included breakfast which we recommend highly. Excellent service and food. We didn't use the gym as it was closed, but the in-room amenities were great. Comfortable bed, big bath, and everything was thought through. They left a glasses wipe and case out for me, some spare toiletries and water and slippers.

Outstanding is the only way to describe our 3 night stay. Everything was amazing from arrival to departure. The staff are all so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We loved eating and drinking in all of the bars and restaurants. Absolutely fabulous would highly recommend.

When our children were young (2002-2015) we stayed at least once a year at the Merrion - each a wonderful visit. We returned this weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday and it was the best birthday celebration I have ever had. The Merrion has changed/improved and remains unique.

From check-in to check-out, everything was first class. Front desk, dining room food and service, housekeeping, Book Room staff, and bell staff were all cordial and helpful. We did not utilize Concierge specifically. We arrived at the tail end of the front desk remodel. The location transition from front lobby to front desk room was seamless. The Book Room staff is properly educated in keeping the fireplace going; laying another small log on the fire at just the right time!
