The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

We had an amazing night at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua while celebrating our daughter’s birthday and we somehow managed to fit a lot of wonderful memories into one stay! The grounds are stunning and the resort feels peaceful and secluded while still being close to nearby beaches and restaurants. We loved walking the Coastal Trail at sunrise, even if getting out of bed that early required a little vacation-level determination. D.T. Fleming Beach is gorgeous and noticeably less crowded than many nearby beaches. The Burger Shack is also a perfect spot for an outdoor lunch with beautiful ocean views because burgers always taste better at the beach. The pools are fantastic. The area was lively, but it never felt overly crowded, and there were plenty of opportunities to relax and pretend we had no responsibilities waiting for us back home. For our special birthday dinner, we ate at the Banyan Tree Restaurant, where our server, Lara, was outstanding. She was warm, attentive and offered excellent menu suggestions, topped off with wonderful wine recommendations. She helped make the evening feel truly special and anyone who pairs great food with the right wine is a hero in our book. Topped off with a lovely "Happy Birthday" cake at the end of our fantastic meal. The staff also made our daughter’s birthday especially memorable. When we checked into our room, we were delighted to find a beautiful tray of chocolate-covered strawberries and a bottle of bubbly from Mary Beth, thanking us for choosing the Ritz for our celebration. It was such a thoughtful surprise, and our daughter felt incredibly special. My wife and I were also very happy to assist with the strawberries! We made so many special memories during our stay and wanted to thank everyone at The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua for making our celebration so memorable. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

We paid for a suite. Got to our room, noticed that out of the 10 pieces of furniture that 9 of them had serious stains on them. We asked to be moved as the price was not cheap… denied. They did offer to send the housekeepers to the room to “clean the furniture. They did flip 3 pillows but the rest of the furniture was left as is. Over the next couple of days we hung out by the pool and enjoyed Maui. The lobby had the same issue however stains on nearly every piece of furniture. If they want to keep the luxury price tag they better be willing to keep th property up to sniff.

Amazing experience. We chose this resort for our honeymoon and left already talking about coming back. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, the grounds were beautiful, and the spa was incredible. The resort felt classy and luxurious without ever feeling pretentious. Kapalua definitely has more unpredictable weather than other parts of Maui, but we were happy to trade a few extra rain showers for the peace and quiet. The resort never felt loud or overcrowded—it was relaxed without feeling empty. The beach is just a short walk away (there is a bit of a hill), and it's only a short Uber ride to Lahaina and Kāʻanapali. We're so glad we chose to stay here and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Maui and it was one of the most memorable hotel experiences we have ever had. The service was exceptional—exactly what you would hope for from a luxury resort, yet delivered with a warmth and sincerity that made it feel truly personal. Throughout our stay, the staff consistently went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. We loved the relaxed elegance and ambience of the property, and the views of the ocean from the lobby and throughout the resort were simply breathtaking. The dining was excellent, from enjoying meals by the water at the Burger Shack to relaxing at the Lobby Lounge. What stood out most, however, was the culture of hospitality that seemed evident in every employee we encountered. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to returning to this special place.

First, I had a great time and visit to Maui. But trying to be objective in my review for what I feel was the experience versus cost. I likely I wouldn’t stay here again. Beautiful property, grounds. Facility is a tad dated but very well maintained. We stayed in a residential suite, well appointed and nice features… bathroom a little dated. Our friends in the regular rooms said they could hear other people in their bathroom. Food is great but gets old after a bit. Weren’t a lot of staff around to help guests, not at all what I expect for service from previous stays at the ritz. Also amentities were lacking based on the cost. Need a shuttle to the other beaches within a short radius. Whats 80$ daily resort fee for really providing?
