The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua

Staying at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua has been the best resort experience I’ve ever had. I travel 3–4 times a year, and I can confidently say this property has set a new standard for service and hospitality. What impressed me most is that I’m still mid-stay as I write this, and I already feel compelled to share how exceptional everything has been. The level of service is truly outstanding—from the bell staff and valet to housekeeping and every hotel employee we’ve interacted with. What really stands out is how genuinely personal the experience feels. Every staff member treats you like a returning guest, and even remembering names adds a thoughtful, welcoming touch that makes a big difference. I don’t say this lightly, but this has been one of the most impressive resort stays I’ve experienced anywhere in the world. I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-tier luxury stay in Maui.

What an incredible experience. The property is exquisite the service outstanding. From the moment we walked in to every interaction after they just create an elevated experience.

Every interaction with every staff member. Every surface in every part of the resort. Every plate of food. Every cocktail. Every blade of grass and plant on this property. EXCELLENT.

I have read so many negative reviews of this hotel prior to our trip that I felt the need to post a positive one. This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and we loved our stay. Our one bedroom residence was very clean and comfortable. Margie at the front desk was exceptional and very welcoming. All the staff we came accross from the golf cart driver to our housekeeper, wait staff in the restaurants, were all very friendly. The negative aspect of the trip was that the pool heater was not working for our entire week stay and was too cold for most people to use. There was unfortunately no warning or explanation given at check in or by management at any point. I think it would have been considerate to at least post some signs apologizing for the inconvenience. Particularly for families who were counting on that pool to keep kids entertained.

This is a luxury hotel with large rooms and great views from the lobby area. We arrived just before the first Kona storm in March. Our suite was spacious and clean. We had balconies but did not use them am due to the insects - but we are in a tropical environment so I don’t fault the hotel for exterior bug issue. We made sure to put all food away to avoid interior issues. We did the hotel sponsored whale watch ant it was amazing. The crew and hotel’s naturalist were knowledgeable and fun. The buffet breakfast was included, but if it wasn’t I would have opted for breakfast at the local store next door. For rainy days they offered alternative options. We did not lose power while I was there. I did a spa treatment and the luau. My son loved the outdoor courts and I appreciated the beach and nearby nature trail walk. I would recommend both! I would definitely stay here again.
