There’s really very little that needs to be said — this is, after all, The Ritz London. Our stay was undeniably pleasant and steeped in the timeless grandeur the Ritz is known for. The sense of history, ceremony, and old-world charm is ever present, making it a property many will visit at least once for the name alone. That said, to love it even more, a few elements would benefit from thoughtful evolution. A major refurbishment would go a long way, as certain facilities now feel dated when measured against London’s other top-tier luxury hotels. The addition of a swimming pool and a well-designed spa would elevate the experience significantly and bring the Ritz in line with modern expectations. The entry-level Superior Room is also notably compact and offers little to no view — though, to be fair, we were graciously upgraded to a far more spacious Junior Suite for the duration of our stay, which made a meaningful difference. Culinary offerings remain a strong point. The celebrated afternoon tea fully lives up to its reputation — elegant, indulgent, and impeccably executed. Breakfasts and dinners were equally satisfying, reinforcing the Ritz’s standing as a culinary institution. Service, overall, is excellent: polished, attentive, and consistently professional. The only minor note is the charge of £5 per additional bottle of water. While the amount itself is inconsequential, at this price point it slightly detracts from the sense of generosity one expects from a hotel of this stature. All in all, the Ritz London delivers a solid experience. However, as competitors such as Claridge’s and the newly opened Rosewood Chancery invest heavily in modernization, the Ritz now has some catching up to do to remain at the very top.

​We chose The Ritz to celebrate my wife Colleen’s 40th birthday and our 20th wedding anniversary, it has always been on her bucket list to have afternoon tea there so I decided to do the works and stay over with dinner too! Tom welcomed us as we checked in and he surprised us with an upgrade to a stunning Junior Suite, which set the tone for the whole stay. He made sure we were looked after until the room was ready and then gave us a tour, he is a credit to the hotel and it's brand! ​We experienced both the traditional Afternoon Tea and dinner in the restaurant. Both were impeccable with exceptional food, first-class service, and a truly magical atmosphere. The staff made a point to acknowledge our double celebration at every turn, making us feel like the only guests in the hotel. ​Thank you to The Ritz for making this milestone so spectacular. 5 stars isn't enough! My words don't do it enough justice hopefully the pictures will!

My daughters booked an afternoon tea as a surprise birthday treat , what an experience, Everything was amazing from the decor , the service and the food . I would highly recommend the afternoon tea with a glass of champagne , the food was outstanding and I even got a birthday cake and happy birthday sung to me . Will never forget this wonderful experience

Rude staff, refused to serve us because one person had plain black trainers. Others were wearing trainers. Northern !!!!!
