Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Arusha, Tanzania
This is a beautiful, modern property. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurants and bars are really beautiful as well. The food was excellent and we were very well attended by Manny in the bar. We saw baboons climbing the trees outside our room and many other animals on the drive up to the property. The only negative is that our room was hot which made sleeping uncomfortable. You are able leave the sliding door on the balcony open but there was no breeze to move the air through when we stayed. Additionally, we were close to the bar where they were playing music loudly. This hotel, which is otherwise very high-end, needs to add air conditioning.

Well designed, spacious rooms with balconies and retractable screens. Professional, welcoming staff. Exceptionally clean. Beautiful common areas. Excellent food, the best breakfast selection on our Tanzanian adventure. Accommodation for gluten-free on-site and for box lunch.

Our stay at the Serengeti Explorer Hotel was truly beyond anything we could have imagined. Nestled in the heart of the Serengeti, this hotel offers the ultimate in luxury and comfort, seamlessly blending exquisite design with the breathtaking natural surroundings. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly well looked after. The level of personalized service was outstanding, with the staff going above and beyond to cater to all our needs. The food was exceptional — beautifully prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully catered to our dietary requirements, making each meal a delightful experience. We would like to give special mentions to several outstanding staff members who made our stay unforgettable. Zam Zam, Beatrix, Damion, and Hassan provided warm, attentive service that made us feel like VIPs. Richard and Jennifer were always on hand with genuine hospitality, and Stella, our wonderful nanny, ensured that our little ones felt cared for and happy. And a heartfelt thanks to Brendon, the head chef, whose culinary creations were nothing short of spectacular. Every aspect of the hotel exudes luxury — from the elegant rooms and stunning surroundings to the exceptional staff and incredible amenities. Serengeti Explorer is a true sanctuary that offers an authentic yet indulgent African experience in one of the most awe-inspiring locations on earth. We leave with unforgettable memories and a longing to return. This hotel is undoubtedly a masterpiece of hospitality and a perfect base to explore the wonders of the Serengeti.

Wow Wow Wow…this property is the jewel of the Serengeti, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. Every detail about this lodge was pure perfection. We were allocated a member of staff during our stay called Elizabeth who was outstanding and ensured our dining experience was to a very high standard. In fact all staff members were very very attentive and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the surroundings were breathtaking. This is probably the most stunning hotel I have ever stayed in due to its location. I really can’t fault it. My family of 6 loved the food, the activities that were on offer, a gorgeous pool, spa, and after a exhausting day of safaris, we just couldn’t wait to return to the lodge due to it’s fabulous atmosphere; lit fires and beautiful lighting. Another highlight of this property was the waterhole, where you could immerse yourself inside a tunnel for hours and wait for animals to come to drink some water. What made it that extra special was that members of the management team could be seen, and would often come to talk to us, making sure that we were well looked after. On our last night we were asked if we wanted a picnic box the following day as we were leaving early and once again we were so impressed as we had all received a box full of food and a drink as we checked out. The property is pure luxury. I hope I can return one day!

This hotel is simply amazing! The staff are friendly and attentive. The setting and hotel facilities are second to none. The food was delicious. A special mention to Joshua who checked in with us at every mealtime. We were doing a safari for our honeymoon and the hotel left some sweet treats for us in our room and a congratulatory note. So thoughtful! On our 2nd and last night, we had dinner under the stars at the Boma restaurant. It was fantastic. We wish we'd had more than 2 nights here to enjoy everything else the hotel has to offer! We will just have to come back one day! I would add more photos of our room but I think only my husband took some! Suffice it to say, the photos online are an accurate representation. The rooms are beautiful!
