We had an incredible stay at Serengeti Explorer during our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a better safari experience. The highlight of our trip was our guide, Protas. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and the Serengeti, and his passion for what he does really showed. More importantly, he went out of his way to make our safari an amazing and memorable experience. He took the time to understand what we wanted to see and made every effort to tailor each game drive to make it everything we had hoped for. Seeing so many incredible animals in their natural habitat was unforgettable, and returning each day to the beautiful resort made the experience even more special. One morning we were even woken up by the noise of some elephants walking through the brush right outside our balcony! The staff were all warm and welcoming, and one of our favorite surprises was when the kitchen kindly prepared some traditional Tanzanian dishes for us on request, including delicious ugali. It was a fantastic way to experience the local cuisine and something we'll always remember. From the exceptional guiding to the wonderful hospitality, everything exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend Serengeti Explorer to anyone looking for an unforgettable safari in Tanzania!

This is an amazing resort with views for miles. The property is beautiful and only second to its' amazing staff. We had the pleasure of Awak being our housekeeper and Isreal as our server during our stay. They both made the trip memorable and were so attentive and a genuine joy. The location is beautiful and we saw zebras and buffalos from our balcony. The rooms are spacious, modern and well appointed. We are looking forward to going back there one day!

Wow what a transformation post the complete refurbishment!!! And sometimes even a whirlwind visit is enough to remind you how special a property can be. I had an incredibly quick stay at the stunning Serengeti Explorer recently, but it was just enough time to catch both a magnificent sunset and a sensational African sunrise. Timing is everything in the bush, I missed a local leopard by a few hours and the passing migration by a few days, but the location itself is spectacular regardless. Between the breathtaking views and that massive 35m swimming pool, it offers absolutely everything a traveler could ask for. The Setting & Views The lodge is expansive, elegant, and architecturally stunning, with almost 360‑degree views of the Serengeti from nearly every vantage point. Whether you’re in your suite, at the pool, or simply walking to dinner, the landscape unfolds around you like a living painting. One of the most unique features is the wildlife viewing room overlooking a natural waterhole. You can sit comfortably indoors and watch animals come to drink — zebras, antelope, even elephants — all without disturbing them. It feels like a private documentary unfolding just for you. Rooms The rooms are vast, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, with sweeping views that make you feel like you’re still on safari even after you’ve returned from your game drive. It’s the kind of place you retreat to and instantly exhale. You will not want to leave. Food & Wellness The food is consistently lovely — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For wellness, Vanessa is exceptional. Her massage was one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the world, and she carries a calm, grounding energy that stays with you long after the treatment ends. Staff & Service Every single staff member was warm, gracious, and genuinely hospitable. The front desk team, the restaurant staff, the guides — everyone made me feel welcomed and cared for. But I must give special, heartfelt recognition to Damien, the manager. When he learned that our stay coincided with a triple birthday celebration and a wedding anniversary, he went above and beyond in ways I will never forget. He arranged a beautiful bush lunch, and later — in one of the most extraordinary gestures I’ve ever experienced — he closed the restaurant to create a private boma‑style birthday dinner just for us. I felt like a celebrity. I felt seen. I felt celebrated. It was unforgettable. Overall Experience Serengeti Explorer is a place that stays with you. It is luxurious without being pretentious, grand without losing its soul, and warm in a way that makes you feel like you’re coming home. From the warm and friendly greeting and then the fantastic backdrop of the Serengeti our arrival was just the start of 3 perfect days in the Serengeti Explorer. Every member of staff was so helpful and friendly and wanted to make sure that we as guests had the best time. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and perfectly clean and had all we could have hoped for. The pool was very refreshing at the end of each safari day and we loved the hide by the watering hole. We saw all of the big 5 animals at this time of year, the quantity of zebras and wildebeest plus large elephant groups were particular highlights. Absolutely recommend this for a few days.
