Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok

The Shangri-La is comfortable with a good breakfast. It's more like a good two or three star hotel due to cost cutting. For example, the bathroom does not have soap, so the bath is uesless unless you want to run to and fro to the shower for the liquid detergent. Also, fruit juice at breakfast is not fresh, I'm not even sure it is pure juice. There is some real juice outside but not much choice. Most of the rest of breakfast is good and it's good to see Shangri-La is still one of the few hotels to supply real bread. This isn't a bad notel it just isn't worth the price, it's on the river but there is no longer a promenade along the river front, just the hotel grounds.

This internationally renowned luxury hotel is beautifully situated along the Chao Phraya River and offers a complimentary ferry service to the iconic ICONSIAM shopping mall. The BTS station is just a short two-minute walk away, Returning after nearly twenty years, I was delighted to see that the hotel has impeccably preserved its signature elegance and charm. The front desk experience was particularly impressive-efficient, calm, and well-organised. I would like to commend Duty Managers Mr. Togg and Mr. Tee for their exceptional professionalism and outstanding service. One of the highlights of my stay was breakfast in the tropical riverside garden. Dining amid lush greenery with views of the river is truly a unique Shangri-La experience, unlike anywhere else in the world. With its excellent amenities and thoughtfully maintained facilities, the hotel is an ideal venue for corporate retreats, business meetings, incentive programmes, and conventions. A flawless stay that fully lives up to its prestigious reputation.

A beautiful hotel in a fantasic location to explore Bangkok. The service at the hotel is some of the best I have ever experienced. Lovely pool area for relaxing after a busy day in the city. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. Great for popping out to a local restaurant for dinner, everywhere felt safe.

Fantastic hotel next to the river. We stayed for a few nights just to explore the city. From the hotel you have easy acces to the watertaxi. It is a pity that the hotel does not offer a watertaxi in the evenings, other hotels do offer this. Rooms were very good and spacious. We only booked breakfast and this was supercomplete. A very big buffet where there is food for all tastes.

My stay at Shangri-La Bangkok was critically disappointing, marked by operational failures and unacceptable room quality. The hotel prioritizes its own revenue over the guest experience by withholding vital information. Sadly was 5* but now all areas tired and in need of renovation. The room's physical condition is dilapidated and unacceptable for a 5-star hotel: staining and visible damage on wallpaper and painted surfaces; stained bathroom marble; no power plugs/USB ports near the bedside tables etc. Can hear kids in room next door. River View room but was told after check-in that I must keep the blinds closed all day for two days due to external drone surveillance. This restricted my paid-for view and constitutes a severe issue using the room. Furthermore, the pool was closed without prior notice afternoon for a private, paid event. The hotel accepted my reservation knowing they would deny access to to a view and pool without any prior warning. No appology and no reponse to my complaints on the first day. The hotel failed to deliver the services paid for due to these undisclosed restrictions and poor upkeep. Prospective guests should be aware of these issues as the hide issues from you prior to booking.
