Terrible... they delay my check in "Sir ur room not yet ready"... got in the room and found the surprise. Once i reached the room (which they delayed) a cold notice in the desk saying Swimming pool was sold to a private event. The next morning we had the flight at 10 am so basically we had no other choice. NOT a single notice during the check in, not a single notice or an apologie during the check out. Remember you are a guest and welcome only when you can be milked. I was there with my family to relax in the swimming before the long flight of the next day. Over the phone i was told i could have use the other swimming pool in the wing side. They simply forgot to mention the swimming pool was smaller then the bath tube in the room and few seat only.. AND NO SERVICE, and only 10 SUN BEDS! Not to mention how many people were inside which i doubt it was even following safety regulation. This people won't see me anymore, it has been a while Shangri-la Bangkok has been dropping in service quality and this is another confirmation. My fault coz i keep giving them a new chance. NEVER AGAIN, full of options in Bangkok, I will not this mistake again! Previously Manager has replied that the alternative swimming pool is 700 SQM (either he confuse Square meter with Square feet, he has problems with the truth, he is considering also the lobby of the hotel and the parking in the calculation, let you decide). Picture in the attachment. After what i paid i also need to be bullied from this arragant management... unbelievable

Beautiful rooms and Nice property. Nice pool area. Essentially a Bangkok property . Only thing is that it's a huge property and breakfast is served only in the old wing and to work miles for breakfast

I had a wonderful stay at the Shangri-La Bangkok. The staff were absolutely fantastic — warm, attentive, and consistently delivering exceptional service throughout my stay. Early check-in was possible, which I truly appreciated after a long journey. The rooms are slightly dated in style, but they are very comfortable and impeccably clean, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. My only complaint is the lack of a capsule coffee machine in the room, hello Shangri-La, we are in 2026😉 The pool area is beautiful and offers a lovely riverside atmosphere, although it tends to be quite crowded most of the time. The location is another major highlight, with easy access to the BTS, river boats, and nearby food markets — making it incredibly convenient for exploring Bangkok. Overall, a very pleasant experience with outstanding hospitality. I would happily return.

SAD SHANGRI LA !

We first came across the Shangi La brand about 30 years ago enjoying memorable stays in KL Penang Tanjung Aru and Rassa Ria in Borneo Hong Kong and also the Shangri La Shard in London. Unfortunateley the Shangri La brand has slipped if the Bangkok hotel is anyting to go by. We arrived at the hotel at 14.20 and our deluxe river view room was not ready. So reception suggested we change into our swim wear in what seemed like a broom cupboard. We got our room about 3.45 and it was on the 17th floor which is one of the two best things about the hotel the other being the breakfast. Our room along with most comunal areas along with both pool areas are in urgennt need of a makeover and refurbishing.First night our bed was not turned and the second day we left the hotel at 8am and returned at 6pm and our room had not been serviced. Coupled with this house keeping needed 3 atempts to fix a gurgling toilet. In short not what we were expecting or looking forward too on the last stop of our joint Cambodia/Bangkok adventure. We are a bit dissapointed but havnt given up entirely on the Shangri La brand but in the future will acess more carefully if our next possible stay at a Shangri La meets our expectations. Excellent service at this great hotel

I'm so happy that we stayed in the Shangri-la again this year. This hotel is fantastic. I have stayed here many times over the years and still feel excited at the thought of staying here. We stayed on the 24th floor which is part of the Horizon club. We were looked after superbly by Qui (who we remember very well from last year) Mimi, Eye, Por and Ploy. Each and everyone were welcoming, polite and very friendly whilst remaining professional. None of them were intrusive but managed to know every time when our glasses were nearly empty and refreshed our drinks. I'm definitely returning to Horizon club next year. The hotel itself was very busy but still had that lovely calm and relaxed feeling about it. We choose to eat breakfast downstairs where there was an extensive range with something for everyone. So once again Thank you to Oui, Mimi, Eye, Por and Ploy. You made our holiday perfect and we look forward to seeing you all and staying in the Shangri-la next year.

I noticed that I had lost all the documentation pertaining to my booking as I was checking in at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok. It did not seem to matter, since they had all the details of my booking, and to my great surprise I was given an upgrade in the King Kungthrup Wing. An unforgettable experience.
