Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok

I recently spent a wonderful staycation at Shangri-La Bangkok, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine Thai hospitality that made me feel instantly relaxed and cared for. I stayed in a Horizon Club River View Room, and waking up to the panoramic views of the Chao Phraya River was simply amazing. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the access to the Horizon Club Lounge. I loved spending the afternoon there with a cup of coffee while enjoying the city views, and the evening cocktails and canapés were a fantastic bonus. The hotel’s riverside swimming pool is absolutely beautiful and feels like a peaceful oasis in the middle of Bangkok. It was the perfect place to unwind and escape the busy city atmosphere. Breakfast at NEXT2 Café was another highlight. There was an impressive variety of food, from local Thai dishes to international favorites, and the riverside setting made the experience even more enjoyable. The service throughout the hotel was consistently warm, friendly, and attentive. During my stay, I also experienced the Volti Italian Sunday Table at Volti Tuscan Grill & Bar, and I highly recommend it. The brunch offered a great selection of antipasti, fresh seafood, pizza, delicious main courses, and desserts. The riverside atmosphere was lovely, and being able to enjoy the hotel’s pool afterward made the day feel even more special. What impressed me most was how Shangri-La Bangkok combines luxury, comfort, and authentic hospitality so effortlessly. It is the kind of place where you can truly slow down, relax, and enjoy every moment. I would definitely return and highly recommend Shangri-La Bangkok to anyone looking for a memorable riverside stay in Bangkok, whether for a staycation, a romantic getaway, or a special celebration.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shangri-La Bangkok. The property is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and the location on the Chao Phraya River is fantastic. From the moment you arrive, everything feels thoughtfully designed to create a luxury experience—from the gorgeous lobby to the beautifully tailored staff uniforms. Even the smallest details feel intentional. We stayed in the Krungthep Wing, and if your budget allows, I’d definitely recommend it. It was incredibly quiet and gave us access to a much more secluded pool with comfortable sunbeds overlooking the river. It was the perfect place to relax after spending the day exploring Bangkok. The service was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless. We were welcomed with a refreshing sweet tea, accommodated with an early check-in without even asking, and our luggage somehow made it to our rooms before we even thought about it. Check-in was completely seamless. You also get the sense that they take both hospitality and their reputation very seriously. The only issue we had during our stay was a slow-draining sink. We mentioned it once, it was repaired while we were out, and when we returned there was a formal note in an envelope on Shangri-La letterhead letting us know it had been fixed and apologizing for the inconvenience. It was a small issue, but the way they handled it said a lot about the hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent with just about anything you could want. One of my favorite little touches was that they featured a different fresh juice every morning, which made breakfast feel a little different each day. The location couldn’t have worked better for us. The hotel is right next to the Central Pier, and they also offer a complimentary shuttle boat across the river to ICONSIAM. Whether you choose to travel by river or by road, getting around is easy. We ended up using Grab quite a bit, and because the Shangri-La is such a well-known hotel, drivers always knew exactly where to find us. One thing I also appreciated was the security. Every time you entered the hotel your bags went through an X-ray scanner. It never felt inconvenient or over the top—just reassuring. We’d absolutely stay here again. After spending several days there, it’s easy to understand why the Shangri-La has the reputation it does. It’s a beautiful hotel, but what really stood out to us was how consistently well it was run.

Exceeded my expectations. This hotel is truly wonderful. The staff are amazing and so helpful. Take my advice and get the breakfast package as it is delicious with a wide variety of Thai, Asian and western food. We utilised the gym and pool which were of a very high standard. The beds,linen and pillows made you feel like sleeping on a cloud. We loved staying here and when we visit again, this will be our first port of call

Neat and clean hotel. Beautifully maintained. Aircondition working very good.

Still and always will be my favourite place to stay while touring though Bangkok. Has come a bit of age but the staff, hospitality is at its best.
