Exceptional service after a long journey

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We had a wonderful stay at Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel in Aguas Calientes. We booked a river view room with half board, and the service throughout our stay was truly exceptional. Our journey there was extremely long. We took three flights from Rio early in the morning and then continued by train to Aguas Calientes. Unfortunately, our train was delayed from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, so we didn’t arrive until around 11:00 PM. After almost 24 hours of traveling, we were completely exhausted. What really stood out was how well the hotel communicated with us throughout the delay. They kept in touch with us the whole time, which made us feel very cared for. When we finally arrived at the train station, a hotel staff member was already there waiting for us and helped carry our luggage from the station to the hotel. After such a long journey, that gesture meant so much to us. Even more impressive, the hotel had prepared a 3-course meal and served it in our room when we arrived. After nearly 24 hours of traveling, it honestly felt like heaven. On the day we left, our train departed very early at 5:30 AM. The hotel thoughtfully prepared a cute takeaway breakfast bag for us, including freshly squeezed orange juice. It made the early train ride back very enjoyable — watching the beautiful scenery while eating delicious food. The service here is truly outstanding, and the staff were incredibly thoughtful throughout our stay. This experience made our trip to Machu Picchu even more special. Highly recommended.

Clean property; friendly staff

We really enjoyed the clean rooms and the gourmet food. A unique thing about them is their extremely friendly staff; They provided kits for the nearby hot springs. I want to thank Danial Olievra and his team for taking care of us.
