Beautiful property, great location, and outstanding service. The staff went beyond what we expected and paid attention to every detail. The food was excellent. One of the best hotel stays we have had.

Amazing tasting menu
We had an amazing experience at Sumaq in Aguas Calientes! The tasting menu was absolutely incredible, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. It was such a memorable culinary experience and a highlight of our trip to Peru. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Aguas Calientes!

Good family hotel
A terrific family run hotel which prides itself on excellent service. Everyone we met was friendly and very welcoming. It has an 80s sort of vibe, slightly old fashioned but charming. Dinner is usually included in your stay and is very good. A lot of choice of Peruvian and non Peruvian food with a twist. Wine is quite expensive as everywhere in this area. Location is excellent for the train station ( they transport your bags for you) and very close to the buses for Machu Picchu. Our only downside was the room, which was a junior suite. Great bed and linen, huge jacuzzi bath and separate toilet and shower. Mini bar contents included. Heavy drapes by the bed, blocking light and some of the road noise. However the bathtub is in the room and only a thin blind behind it covers the window, meaning the room is very light all night! Maybe fine for you if not a light sleeper.

Thanks to Sumaq Machu Picchu for its vision in creating such a tranquil space. If I return to Machu Picchu I would definitely stay here again. And the food was delicious!
