Find all of the beauty and drama of Venice in a most unlikely place when you check into The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino on the Strip in Las Vegas. With soaring marble pillars, works of art and entire facades painstakingly recreated, not to mention actual canals with singing gondoliers gliding past, The Venetian captures the magic of Italy perfectly. The Grand Canal Shoppes, including some of the most sought-after designer names, and restaurants run by some of most highly regarded chefs, line the canals beneath vaulted, hand-painted ceilings. An 112,000 square foot casino awaits those ready to try their luck at the famed tables, while a variety of activities offer additional diversity. The Venetian is a chance to walk through halls of history, explore the beauty of one of Italy's most famous cities, and to experience the wonders that Las Vegas has to offer - in one spectacular resort.

My wife and I stayed at the Palazzo for five nights around Christmas (Dec 21-26, 2025), and while the room was nice enough, especially the size (one bedroom suite), there were some issues. The room showed signs of wear, the carpet needed to be deep cleaned or replaced, and the furniture, especially the sofa, badly needed to be refreshed. There was a sticky substance on the arm of the sofa that I hope was a spilled drink from a prior guest. However, the kicker for us came on the last day as we were checking out when we were informed that smoke had been detected in our room at 9 am that morning, even though we did not smoke in the room at any point during our stay and I was still in bed asleep at the time of the incident. and the hotel added a $560 fee to our bill. We called the front desk and a housekeeping manager came to inspect the room about an hour after the smoke was supposedly detected and he found no evidence of any smoking in the room, but when we spoke to a front desk manager, she informed us that there was nothing she could do to remove the fee from our bill. Apparently, as she explained to us, the smoke detector works automatically and when it goes off, the charge is automatically applied to the bill electronically and cannot be removed, though she said we could file an appeal by writing to their management office, or to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I'm sorry, but to have an automatic process built into your system with no chance for human intervention just doesn't make sense. There should be some way to intervene manually, especially when the evidence suggests that no infraction took place. We will take whatever action is needed to dispute the charge, but I'm deeply disappointed with the situation and the ordeal that we'll have to go through to fight the charge. I've visited Vegas over 50 times in the last ten years and stayed at the Venetian/Palazzo five times in the past few years, but this is likely the last time that I deal with them. I don't want to take a chance that something similar will take place in the future.

First, credit where it’s due: the Venetian is stunning. Architecturally gorgeous, elegant, and impressive in every direction. If this review were based on looks alone, it would be five stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, the guest experience didn’t live up to the scenery. You’re encouraged to check in online—do it. The front desk was a mob scene, while the key pickup line was painless thanks to pre-check-in. At the desk we were told the $64/day resort fee covered Wi-Fi and fitness center access. Sixty-four dollars!!! For two of the most basic hotel amenities in existence—both free at almost hotels in America that isn’t on the LV Strip. The room itself was beautiful, but the in-room snack caddy already had items missing. My husband grabbed a small bottle of water. Wanting to avoid surprises, I checked the bill the next day and found a $14 refreshment charge. That was for the single 8-oz bottle of water. A bottle that costs under $2 anywhere else on earth. Lesson learned: dehydration is cheaper. The next morning we needed coffee. There’s no coffee maker in the room, and the nearest option was two elevator rides away, so we ordered room service. While waiting and trying to relax, we also noticed there was only one bathrobe in a room booked for two guests. About an hour later, a very friendly staff member arrived with a small pitcher of coffee and two cups. Total cost: $38. After that, we happily took the elevator rides. Housekeeping managed to service the room only once during our stay and missed the rest. I get it—this is Las Vegas. The Strip’s business model has never been subtle. But this felt less like entertainment and more like a financial shakedown. When a company reporting hundreds of millions in profit nickel-and-dimes guests this aggressively, it crosses from “Vegas pricing” into something that just feels unnecessary and, frankly, offensive. I’ve been coming to Las Vegas for decades and even lived here for four years. The Venetian remains beautiful to look at—but the overall experience was disappointing enough to understand why many longtime visitors are coming less often. Go for the views. Just brace yourself for the bill.

BEWARE!!!! if you smoke in your room you will incur a 577.90 charge. It is an alarm that goes off in certain locations in your room when it detects tobacco smoke. Charge reflects as a "clean air" charge. Don't know how the alarm works. The bad thing is there was never any smoking that occurred in our room at all, but of course if it alarms off odors we all stink due to the people in the casino smoking, but we don't smoke and was charged anyway. Shocking!!!!

My wife and I decided to spend. Christmas away from boring Britain and chose Vegas for the experiences on offer. Arrived on the 13th and taxi to hotel (no shuttle available) Fortunately we arrived around 8pm so no big queue at reception to book in. The chap at reception offered an upgrade for a city view at an extra $50 which we declined. When we hauled our bags through the casino to our room in the north tower, the first thing that hit us was the smell of sewage and the constant humming of the air con. We gave it a few hours to clear which it did not so went down to reception in the early hours to complain. Our room was changed to a few floors below which was fine but the noise from the air con was still there but accepted this as the norm. View from room was the city view we had been offered at $50 extra but disappointing unless you like to see cranes and Trump tower. Room was nice, daily cleaner excellent, shop selection excellent but expensive, restaurant selection excellent but expensive, Casino chocker day and night. Front desk service excellent. Room had no complementary tea, coffee, water facilities which could all be purchased separately (stingy in my opinion) Plenty to do and see but 14 days was too much, 10 days would be better. We avoided Freemont Street because the taxi driver warned of drugs down there so stayed close at hand. Malls excellent, Bellagio had a fantastic Christmas display as did most other Hotels. Would I come back? No. Second time for me. First time for wife, she also says No Worth the money (£6000 all in including flights etc)? Just

My family and I stayed at this hotel at room North 7-101 over the Christmas period and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. Throughout our stay there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room at different times of the day, which was completely unacceptable for a supposedly non‑smoking room. As someone who is allergic and traveling with small kids, this caused a lot of discomfort and concern, when we were expecting a relaxing and memorable family holiday. We reported the issue to the front desk on multiple occasions, but the team did not take any effective action to resolve the problem. No room change was offered due the full time period, no proper investigation was communicated, and we were left to simply endure the situation. The lack of empathy and initiative from the staff made the whole experience even worse. What should have been a special Christmas family trip turned into a stressful and unpleasant stay. Because of the persistent smell of smoke in the room and the indifference shown by the front desk, we cannot recommend this hotel and will think twice before returning.

We have stayed in other Vegas top hotels but we would come back without a second thought. I wish I was there right now!
