Not Up to the Standard of a Luxury All-Suite Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

Overall, this was a very disappointing stay for a high-end international all-suite hotel. The biggest issue was the lack of flexibility and poor coordination in housekeeping and turndown service. For a multi-night stay, I was surprised to be told that rooms are normally cleaned only around 3 p.m., which is too late for guests expecting a refreshed room during the day. The turndown service was also poorly coordinated and was not completed during the specific time I had provided when I would be out. As a result, I returned to the suite and still had to wait, which disrupted my rest and use of the room. At one point, I even had to wait in the gym while wearing the hotel room bathrobe because the suite was not ready for me to use comfortably. The in-room amenities also felt far below the standard expected from this level of hotel. There was no coffee machine in the suite, only cheap instant coffee. The mugs and utensils were very ordinary and did not match the image of a premium suite. The in-room slippers were thin, low-quality, and easily worn out, a clear downgrade from the more premium slippers the hotel used to provide in the past. The pool did not provide proper waterproof slippers, and guests were told to use the room slippers, which is impractical once they get wet. There were also mosquitoes or small biting insects around the pool area during the day, which affected the comfort of using the facilities. That said, the room itself was beautiful, spacious, and reasonably well maintained despite the hotel’s age. The pool area was also attractive, with greenery, shade, and a pleasant resort-like atmosphere. The frontline staff at check-in, reception, and the pool were generally friendly, polite, and professional. Overall, the hotel promotes a personalized service experience, but in reality guests seem to have to constantly work around the hotel’s schedule, rather than the hotel serving the guest with flexibility. It feels as if the hotel has been spoiled by a constant flow of less demanding mainland tourists, and has allowed its standards to drop in small but important details. For a hotel charging this level of room rate, it is hard to understand why it would cut corners on inexpensive but essential touches such as coffee, slippers, basic amenities, and service flexibility. As a result, the experience felt more like staying in a serviced apartment than in a true luxury all-suite hotel.

Great Hotel, Terrible Grand Lux Cafe

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

The Venetian is our favorite Las Vegas hotel with wonderful rooms and an excellent casino. We’ve been coming to this hotel for a few years and have always loved staying there. The only reason I gave this review four stars is because of the Grand Lux Cafe located in the Venetian. On the first evening of our stay, my husband and I had dinner at the restaurant. My husband ordered cauliflower cheddar soup and a side of mashed potatoes. The cream soup was lukewarm and the mashed potatoes were inedible. He only took a few spoonfuls of the soup and hardly any of the potatoes. That night, he got sick, obviously from the lukewarm cream soup. So the next day, we talked to the day’s manager and he only said they would “investigate” and refused any reimbursement. I’m sorry, but any restaurant where you get sick from the food would, without hesitation, cover the cost of the offending dish. I understand that the Grand Lux Cafe is not part of the Venetian, but it is located inside the hotel, so it reflects on the reputation of the Venetian. Otherwise, we love this hotel. Just not the Grand Lux Cafe.

Wow! A beautiful hotel!🏨

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of big family trip of the Bahamas, Orlando (Disney), Florida keys and vegas. We are so glad we stayed at the Venetian as it just felt another level up from some of the other hotels we visited whilst in LV. Casino 🎰 great, service great, presidential suite was great and very clean, fantastic view out onto the Sphere and mountains (sunrise and sunset was spending else!). The amenities of this hotel are second to none, we enjoyed a quieter day up on the terrace with the hot tubs /pools and also LOVED the indoor sky and Little Venice theme throughout the hotel. The gondolas were a perfect addition too - great fun! Only negative would be that we weren’t informed of the service charge/resort fee each day (that could be waived with casino spend) until ¾ through out trip and we didn’t log first few days of spending which would have negated the $300-400 resort fee, they wouldn’t waive it despite our spend in the casinos hitting the threshold as we hadn’t logged it with the little card. Don’t make this mistake. One of those things that you learn from I guess. Otherwise, fantastic trip!

Great Venetian Experience

Janae was so accommodating for us and really helped us get the best room possible! She was so sweet and helpful; she really made our anniversary weekend unforgettable. When we go to vegas again we will definitely be staying at the Venetian again because of how wonderful of a experience Janae helped us get!

Nickel and Dime You

Everything about this place is nice except for the fact that you have to pay for parking and resort fees. This is the Venetian/Palazzo Resort, not Circus Circus. Resort fees are junk fees and everyone knows it. To advertise one price and add resort fees on top is a joke. I'm surprised a place of this caliber would resort to such BS. Same thing with paying for parking. This place is becoming the same low class resorts like all the other casinos in Vegas. I expected better from this place

We have stayed in other Vegas top hotels but we would come back without a second thought. I wish I was there right now!
