About the Hotel

Find all of the beauty and drama of Venice in a most unlikely place when you check into The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino on the Strip in Las Vegas. With soaring marble pillars, works of art and entire facades painstakingly recreated, not to mention actual canals with singing gondoliers gliding past, The Venetian captures the magic of Italy perfectly. The Grand Canal Shoppes, including some of the most sought-after designer names, and restaurants run by some of most highly regarded chefs, line the canals beneath vaulted, hand-painted ceilings. An 112,000 square foot casino awaits those ready to try their luck at the famed tables, while a variety of activities offer additional diversity. Reviews for The Venetian

Plan smart. It’s a nice resort, but they’ll try to nickel and dime you.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

Every room in this resort is a suite, meaning you will have more space in your room compared to standard rooms at other Las Vegas resorts. Most views from the rooms are great. You either will see the mountains, the city, the strip, or the sphere. It’s important to ask which room types include a personal use fridge, as it’s not very clear if that is included or not when booking on their website. The room overall was clean, but we did notice old, dried gum on the alarm clock located bedside. I also found a phone charger and hat from a previous guest behind the curtains near the office desk, indicating rooms are likely rushed to completion. I’m certain, like other resorts, the management has unrealistic timing expectations for housekeeping to get every room clean in an unrealistic amount of time. Management should consider cleanliness as one of the most important aspects of the guest experience, and allocate additional resources to housekeeping so each employee has the time and dedication available to ensure 100% of the room is clean. This resort features many restaurants you won’t find anywhere else, but one aspect I enjoy is how this resort offers a food court with familiar brands. I am not looking to spend $125 per meal, so having the mall-style food court is valuable. The food court is located on the second floor adjacent to the shoppes. Get ready to walk in circles if you visit the shoppes of Venetian, as there isn’t much in the way of signage to help navigate that second-level. I ended up using ChatGPT to help navigate the second level so I could find my way out of that ultra-premium section. The resort offers day life and night life options via Tao Beach and Tao Nightclub, but don’t expect big name performers to be at those day and night clubs. We ended up going to the Wynn where XS and Encore Beach Club had Gryffin and Diplo booked over the weekend. I choose this resort mainly because there is a certain clientele that isn’t seen often, which are families with loud children. The resort has become more competitive with others when it comes to price, as I received one comp night, with my other two nights costing only $119 each. This resort charges a $55 per night resort fee, which includes access to WiFi (however, they provide this perk to non-residents, too), the gym, some magazines you will never read on your phone, and unlimited calls which you will never utilize. The resort fee is really just a cable company surcharge for the privilege of staying here, and should go away. This resort used to be in the $350 per night range just a few months ago, so it’ll be interesting if the clientele changes over time. Overall, if you book here, you will likely be satisfied, but it’s important to double check your booking at the time of check-in. I was charged $125 for a late checkout (3pm) but the housekeeping tried entering my room twice at 11am and again at 1pm trying to get me out of the room. Come to find out the agent at check-in noted my account, but never actually added the charge to my folio. They still charged me the $125 for a 3pm late checkout, even though I wasn’t able to get the extra sleep I desired due to the constant interruptions by housekeeping on my final day of my stay. Tipping the front desk agent does not result in any extra perks or complementary room upgrades, so don’t bother with that trick which works at other resorts. I’ve had better experiences in the past at this resort, and like said previously it will be interesting to see how the lower room rates will impact customer experience and service quality over time. I did not gamble on this trip, but they have two large casinos with plenty of gaming space for those who choose to do so. The resort has multiple Starbucks locations throughout the resort, but take note none of them are open 24 hours. Food options during the late-night are limited, so expect to pay big bucks for the couple of restaurants which feature late-night service. Don’t use the mini bar in your room. There is a Walgreens Pharmacy located immediately outside the resort on Las Vegas Blvd which has spirits available 24 hours a day. A bottle of Jack Daniel’s is $246 delivered to your room, or $29 at Walgreens. If you utilize room service for meals, be sure to take the price shown and add an automatic 18% surcharge for the privilege of using the service, plus an additional $9.99 surcharge for delivery to your room. If you’re not careful on planning your trip here, you ca ln end up with some severe costs beyond your room cost and resort fees. I booked this resort because I attended ILLENIUM, an EDM artist, at The Sphere, and wanted to ensure we could use the in-house, indoor, pedestrian bridge which connects the Venetian/Palazzo to The Sphere. Take note, the bridge is not always open and if you’re even slightly late for your show you will be forced to exit from the front of the Palazzo and walk all the way down Sands Avenue, which in the heat of Las Vegas is a miserable experience. I don’t understand why the resort doesn’t keep the Sphere pedestrian bridge open during events. They close it then reopen it immediately after the conclusion of the show at Sphere.

Disappointed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The room that I had already booked was no longer available when I checked in!? Had booked 2 queens, north tower specifically. Wound up with south tower, 1 king! Too much walking for my pregnant wife and that was mentioned at check in. Could not accommodate me, even though already booked weeks prior. The shower was horrible. Slippery floors and water everywhere after a shower. Mind you, the wife is pregnant! Not happy. And no housekeeping at all. So much room for improvement here.

Deceptive Upgrade Pricing, MUCH Better Options in LV

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I was sold a suite upgrade upon check-in (a common Venetian practice). When I inquired whether the pirce quoted to me was the total room cost or just the upgrade fee, I was misled. The upgrade ended costing me twice the room rate, which of course got added on as well. The couple checking in next to me was quoted an upgrade fee that was half of mine for the same room type. Just be aware of the upgrade scam they're running at check-in (oh, we have a suite available for you!) and get the rate quote in writing. Also this is really just a mall with canals in it. Intriguing the first time you see it, and sadder every time after.

Vegas - The Palazzo, The Venetian, Eats & Shows

I mostly want to point out how helpful the shift managers at the Poker room, James and Ryan, were in helping me resolve an issue. Ryan even sent a follow up email after my stay to make sure that everything had gone well based on his help. I really appreciated the personal attention each provided. Regarding the rooms, you can’t go wrong staying at the Palazzo or the Venetian. We stayed several nights in each The Palazzo is super convenient to the Poker room and the grand Lux Café, which has fantastic oatmeal cookies for a late night snack We also stayed in one of the king suites at the Venetian. We had an incredible view of the large Ferris wheel out the window, watching it change colors. Be prepared to take several elevators and lock down several halls making multiple turns to get to one of these rooms, though it was quite an adventure, butwell worth it. We ate it multiple restaurants, Del Monaco, the new steakhouse, buchon … all experiences were great We went to several shows, Michael Jackson experience, yacht rock, music, and The saloon show, each different, but very enjoyable for me personally Be fore warned, the salon show is definitely an adult show. You will most probably either love it or hate it, so just be aware of what you’re getting into before you go see it

We have stayed in other Vegas top hotels but we would come back without a second thought. I wish I was there right now!
