Set the table outside under the striped canopy and the country-club fairway runs out to the 17th green just past the pool. Cerezas Modern sits in Las Cerezas, a quiet inland pocket of Casa de Campo, with five bedrooms on a single level for ten guests and an included chef handling all the meals.

Morning belongs to the people back from the pro shop, settling under the cabana while someone else slips into the pool. Push back the sliders along the back wall and the great room opens onto the pool deck for the afternoon. The long outdoor table fills up around two with whatever the chef has brought out from the kitchen. By sundown the garden lighting comes on slowly and the striped canopies catch the last of the sun, with no one in the group keeping track of the hour.

Las Cerezas sits on the inland side of the resort, away from the central hotel and the marina but close enough that a short cart ride covers Minitas Beach and the spa, with both championship courses on the same loop. Altos de Chavón is a short ride further on, past the equestrian fields. Cerezas Modern is the villa to book when the trip wants a quiet inland base with strong contemporary design and someone else handling the meals.
