Carry the drinks out to the back terrace at sundown and The Links fairway is right across the water. Golf Villa V is a single-story house in the Golf Villas III Phase Cont., with the inland lake just past the back lawn and a primary suite that's worth the booking on its own. Five bedrooms sleep ten, with an included cook handling all the meals.

Walk out for a swim in the morning and a floating breakfast tray is already in the pool. Golfers walk the Links fairway across the water while you eat. The covered terrace at the back of the villa runs deep enough that someone always finds shade. At sundown the café lights come on over the outdoor table and dinner runs late. The primary suite is closer to a small spa than a bedroom. A double shower sits behind one glass wall, with an open garden shower under the sky behind the other.

The villa walks to Minitas Beach with a towel under your arm. Teeth of the Dog tees off a short cart ride up the road — ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards — and Altos de Chavón and Dye Fore are the same short ride over for dinner with a view. Golf Villa V is the villa to book when the lake view and the primary suite matter more than the address.
