Walk back from Altos de Chavón at dusk and Villa Kiki opens below, a Balinese pavilion compound stepped down a cliff above the Chavón River. The villa sits inside Riomar with Dye Fore on one side and the river on the other, covered timber walkways linking the rooms through the garden. Five bedrooms in distinct styles sleep ten, with an included cook handling all the meals.

The first drink of the day belongs on the cliff-edge deck, with the river running jade below and the canyon quiet. By midday the group has scattered across the property: a few at the pool over the bluff, more on the front lawn, others stretched out under the gazebo. The walk back from Altos puts you at your own door before sundown. Everyone sits down to dinner at the live-edge table for fourteen, the open kitchen just a few steps behind.

Altos de Chavón sits within walking distance of the villa, and Dye Fore tees off a short cart ride along the cliff. Teeth of the Dog, ranked the Caribbean's top course by the World Golf Awards, is a longer drive across the resort, as is Minitas Beach.
