Reviews for Hotel Riu Palace Antillas

AMAZING!!!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was our first time on the adults side. The last time we came here was 4 years ago on family side. WAY BETTER on adults side! LOVED LOVED!!! The room was so clean and amazing. The only complaint i would say we had were the other couple we went with there whole room smelled a little moist on the 17th floor. The food was amazing! Everything was perfect! We are already planning to come back. The construction next door was not an issue for us personally. We loved the beach and pools. Pools were clean and grounds were kept up. Staff was so friendly and helpful.

Amazing week in Aruba!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed at the Riu Palace Antillas last week and were not disappointed! The food was excellent, drinks and bartenders were amazing. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The beach was clean and water is crystal clear. There are plenty of places to tuck away and just hang out while enjoying the view. We would definitely return!

Beautiful Beach. Average Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Our stay was 05/29 thru 06/04. The beach was beautiful. However too any issues at the hotel. The elevators did not work properly. Two did not work. One closed on my arms while exiting. My sister and two nieces and two other guests were on an elevator that dropped between floors and the kitchen staff heard the crash and had to pry the doors open so that they had to be helped out. No management showed up to ask how they were. They had to go to the front desk to report the incident as they were unaware. Rooms not cool enough. Mediocre entertainment. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful in the main dining room and restaurants

Our experience could have been better.

RIU palace Aruba. Soooooo. It’s 90 degrees outside. Very hot. We arrived on the 31st of May. There are 2 elevators in the lobby to take you to 10 floors. One of the elevators are broken and posted to be fixed by the 6th of June. Today the elevator that did work has stopped working. (Long waits) You have 2 options. Stairs or service elevator. This is the beginning of peak season. Over half of the ceiling fans were not on and did not work when we arrived in the lobby. We had to ask to have them turned on; some worked. It’s about 78 degrees in the lobby and has beenn since we arrived. All the restaurants w have eaten in have ranged about 78-80 in each one. It’s very hard to appreciate the meal when you are sweating. The staff are very kind. But are not able to make it more comfortable. The one place that is cool is the room. The lowest you can change your temp is 68.5. But thankfully there is a ceiling fan. When we first arrived the pillows were very small (too small for the pillow case actually) last night we all got new pillows. Thank you Jesus. I was actually using 5 of the small ones. Point number 2: the beer is only cold in the sports bar. Everywhere else at least mildly cool. I was gonna give the hotel a 3 star rating till today. Ugh. Point 3: when we arrived we got two double beds. I previously had called couple months ago and told we could fix this when we get here. The pushed the two beds together and brought in a 3rd bed for our son. Again most of the staff, very agreeable just working with what they have. Was told there are no larger rooms than what we have. Jr ocean suite. I wish I had better news to bring to the table about this vacation. Was told also that one of the workers here thought the AC wasn’t working right. I agree with her. Today on Wednesday the 5th of June. They now have one elevator working. It’s still very hot. I asked if more ceiling fans could come in in the lobby again. Was told there is a note saying “don’t touch” what the hell. Is the hotel going under or can’t afford to pay the electric bill or maintenance people? We saved a whole great to come to the best island. And the hotel can’t keep up with the weather or repairs. By the way, yesterday we got an upgrade for the horrible pillows. Thank you. At the very least you should do something special for your guests who are sweating it out with the heat. A free excursion or a paid day off their booking price.

Another Great Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Stayed at the RIU Antilles May 27 - June 3. This is our second stay at the adults only. We were on the 17th floor Junior Suite Partial Ocean View. We had the afternoon shade which allowed us to sit on the balcony for drinks before dinner. Check in was smooth - food was really good at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Alejandro would talk to guests to make sure their stay is enjoyable. We are on the beautiful beach every day - Payola and Andy supply the towels with a smile. You can walk the beach, boardwalk or down to the shops. I never expect the people to remember me, it is more important that I remember them, and there were many - they make our stay enjoyable. Sorry for misspelled names. Servers - Miriam, Shajandra, Francesca, Ana Lucia and Jahael, John, Sandra, Maria. Hosts - Michelle and Mary. Beach bar- Luis, Carlos, Mery, Miguel, Elsa. Check out Albi. Thanks to Paula for looking after our room. At Scuba Caribe I would get fins for snorkelling from Madea. There are people with mops, brooms and dustpans, cleaning up after us tourists - shout out to all of you for keeping the hotel clean. Thanks to everyone for being so friendly and making this another great trip.
