Not worth it!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I would not recommend this hotel for a few reasons. If you want all inclusive buffet, this is your place. You have to wait in line for the restaurants in the heat and not guaranteed a seat. The food is not very good on the buffet, spotty.rooms are clean but very bland. Try allow people to place towels in chairs at 5:00am and not show up until noon. No beach bar service and the close the pool at 6:30!! This is my first and last time at Rui! Aruba water is beautiful! Spend your money somewhere else!

Not returning

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I was counting down the days to return to the Rui because I had such a great experience back in May 2018. But wow, things have changed. Upon arriving to the hotel, check in was smooth…then my luggage was lost. The staff did absolutely nothing to assist expect continuously state that they were waiting for the bellmen to return to see if they had my luggage. When all 3 returned without my luggage, they still refused to check the camera to see where my luggage would’ve possibly gone. It turned out that one of the bellmen took my luggage, although it was not tagged, and brought it to a completely random room. Finally get to the room, there was blood on the pillowcases and on the floor. The cleaning service manager came to the room, confirmed there was blood on the pillowcases and said they’d be changed. She told me the blood on the floor was actually “coffee”…regardless. It needed to be cleaned. We went for dinner and came back…the “coffee” was still there. After 4 hours, both items were situated. Went to use the shower - pot light was out and there was black mould along the caulking. Went to use the blow dryer, it fell right out of the holder on the wall because it was not secured. It was obvious that it had been reattached to the wall fitting so many times because of the number of scratches on the back of the box. The cleaning staff didn’t even hang it back up - I’m sure they knew it would just fall again so what was the point. Went to use the gym, the mats are so old and grungy. If you lay down on them and get back up, there were blue specs attached to you. Also, not enough weight stacking pins in each machine. So you’d have to take it from another machine and hope no one was using it. Also, towels were not replenished…only saw them there twice. We often found that staff would overcomplicate things too - we asked for 10 water bottles at front desk. They would not deliver them to the front desk where we all were though. It had to be delivered to a room. Strange? When it was delivered, the commentary was “you know, we don’t typically deliver this many bottles.” Not sure why a comment like this is warranted. Unprofessional and rude. The beach was stunning. Crystal clear water. So picturesque. But you needed to choose your beach chairs wisely because so many of them were cracked. Also, the drink return stations appeared broken and often many drink cups left for hours on end. The front desk slipped a letter under our door to further discuss. Although it took us a few days to get to the front desk to sit down to have a conversation, we often felt like we were to blame. We had other commitments being apart of a wedding group of 30…so we were unable to meet until a couple days after. Regardless, the issues were made known to many individuals as they arose (check in staff, Nuria, cleaning staff, etc.). With all this, customer service offered us a late check out and bottle of champagne. We were with a group of 30 with private transfer to the airport so late check out did nothing for us. And a bottle of champagne at an all inclusive resort? Interesting…they offered that at every restaurant within the resort. We had asked if they could instead provide a couples massage. They told us to wait for an email. Two days went by and no response. We were then offered late check out and champagne again. This was such a different experience from May 2018. Many of the friends & family we were with noted they would not be returning to this resort
