Spent an awesome week at Unico for my mom’s 75th birthday! Carlos and Eduardo were the best butlers and made the week perfect! All of the food was amazing. I have food allergies (eggs, gluten, shellfish) and every restaurant had many options for me to eat and the staff was always very attentive! The spa was great too. The entertainment staff made sure everyone enjoyed their day at the pool. I will definitely be back again!

I have experienced 3 of the Hard Rock resorts as a member and have enjoyed all of them; however, UNICO was absolute heaven to me! I could not stop talking about how much I loved this resort. It was very plush, high-end, excellent food, service was top notch in every restaurant, pool side, rooms. I can’t say enough about our BUTLERS: Israel and Roger, they went above and beyond every single day to ensure we had EVERYTHING we needed and wanted, cabana to poolside chairs in locations requested. They checked on us multiple times a day. Our representative: Gabriel was outstanding again found us daily and took time to “sit down” and have a discussion on our experience daily. He was a true genuine gentleman. Victor, our waiter, at 2087 was amazing always smiling and ensuring we enjoyed our meal. Carlos, waiter, at 2087 for breakfast/lunch continuously checking on us very efficient and professional. Our meeting representation, Adrian, very professional and accommodating to our specific needs not pushy at all just ensuring we were getting all we signed up for and more to we did UPGRADE. The spa was a great experience also! I will be back at this resort to bring friends to IMPRESS this is the location to do it!

I recently stayed at Unico, and my experience was nothing short of a disaster. I am compelled to share my experience in hopes that others can avoid the same pitfalls. Firstly, I called the hotel 12 times in advance to inform them of my disability and to ensure that it was a quiet, restful hotel. They assured me it was.and they assured me they were going to give me a room in a quiet building (1 or2). They gave me building 3 despite having rooms available in 1. Assuring a quiet stay. This could not have been further from the truth. Every single day, weddings were held right in front of my room, lasting until 11:30 PM, accompanied by incessant pool parties with blasting music throughout the day. To make matters worse, there was constant jackhammering and construction noise in front of my room. Despite my requests to change rooms—given the hotel was clearly not at full capacity—the staff refused to accommodate. The food was terrible, reminiscent of the worst school cafeteria fare, and a far cry from even the low standards of cruise ship cuisine. For a hotel that claims to be five stars, the food and service provided were closer to three-star quality at best. Imagine the Italian restaurant not serving fresh pasta and lasagna that looks like the one from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. The rooms themselves were another disappointment, with a pervasive mildew smell that was impossible to ignore. The only semblance of peace was found at the beach. (There is a “quiet pool” but ALLLLL of the chairs are reserved all day for the “members” of the hotel aka the ones foolish enough to have a time share there (they try and sell you this all week it’s non stop) and there’s no room for non members in the quiet room. The beach was the only place of rest. However, even this was marred by heaps of seaweed that were never cleared, a rocky rather than sandy bottom, strong currents, and murky water. To add to the discomfort, beach service ended at 3 PM, leaving guests to fend for themselves amidst persistent drug dealers hiding in the bushes, making it an unsafe and unpleasant environment. The only redeeming qualities were the efforts of Maria at the beach and Luis the concierge, who were both exceptionally helpful and kind. Unfortunately, the majority of the staff displayed a terrible attitude, which made me question if they were underpaid or just poorly managed. Additionally, the watered-down alcohol was laughable. As someone who rarely drinks, I found it took four drinks to feel any effect—something that typically one drink would achieve. Regular drinkers would need to camp at the bar to get any satisfaction. For the price, this hotel is absolutely not worth it. The price must reflect the service provided, and in this case, it does not. Every guest I spoke to had the same disappointing experience, making me suspect that most of the positive reviews are paid for. Overall, my stay at Unico was profoundly disappointing. The deceptive assurances, relentless noise, terrible food, beach conditions, and subpar service overshadowed the few moments of kindness from certain staff members. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a restful and enjoyable vacation.

Our first trip in a long time without kids and really enjoyed the resort. Our Butler’s- Carlos & Eduardo were amazing. The staff was awesome and the food was great. The hospitality we had has been the best we’ve had at a Hard Rock resort. We will definitely be back.
