Reviews for Belmond Las Casitas

8 nights in the heaven

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

When I am writing this review, holiday is over and I have finished 3 weeks in Peru back home. We stayed in Las Casitas for 8 nights, quite long yes I know, but I have to say, every single day, I enjoyed it so much! Special thanks to Diego, who was so patient to have mail communication with me for many times, to confirm my itinerary. I’m a detail oriented person and plan obsessive :-) it’s not easy to work with a guest like me I think lol We used the transfer suggested by hotel, I didn’t expect it’s not only “transfer” as there was not only a driver but also, a guide! I learnt quite a lot from the way airport to hotel. Also it was not the 1st time I’m in Peru, still many things I never heard before. At drop off journey also with the guide who even company us to checkin counter, great service! Our room (I mean, the house, “casita”) is one of the best within all casitas, I enjoyed every morning sitting in the garden watching the valley, the horses, alpaca, birds. In the evening could have the fireplace in the room, see clearly all stars in the sky. Since we didn’t go anywhere else, hotel restaurant covered all our meals! All very good quality ingredients which many of them from hotel garden. Great taste, love the Rocoto Relleno, you must try it if you love spicy food. And promise me, you must have the Tapay breakfast! It’s something once in a life that you have delicious (with set up even!) breakfast on the canyon view, with condor flying over your head, I don’t know the best way to describe it, but pls, book it with hotel, you can’t miss it! Since we spent the Xmas time there, Xmas day morning also a nice surprise to meet Santa and with panettone + hot chocolate, so nice. Oh and also, you must try horseback ride (mine was to Uyo Uyo), Peruvian horse they are sweet and gentle, a 2-3hr horseback riding with a lot of fun. Attention: DO remember to apply sunscreen to your hand and DO reapply after washing your hands - my lesson, sunburn in high altitude place is not a joke. SPA is another place that you have to visit, we had 3 days appointments there and each time I left as a NEW one, such a place for relaxation and rejuvenating. Every staff they are kind and friendly, I try to list their name, Elizabeth, Jose, Daniel, everyone that took good care of us during that 8 days, we are so grateful and thank you all so much! Wish everyone a good 2026. Hasta la vista!

Great resort in amazing location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Great property, amazing location and service is very very good. Rather small so makes all very friendly. Villas and rooms are big and very comfortable. The property located in one of the best places near Colca Canyon and you can’t get enough of the view. Don’t go there - run!

Slice of heaven on Earth. With added alpacas.

I need to review this hotel because I think I left a piece of my soul there. Belmond Las Casitas in Peru’s Colca Valley isn’t just a hotel—it’s a whole experience, a slightly magical, slightly surreal, entirely addictive one. Honestly, I’m not convinced I didn’t dream the whole thing. Picture this: 59 acres (yes, a small kingdom) of lush gardens, misty mountains, and utter silence except for the occasional alpaca casually living its best life. Instead of regular rooms, you get your own casita—a huge, cosy cottage with a fireplace, a giant bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a heated plunge pool that whispers “cancel all responsibilities.” The staff here? Angels. Actual angels. They tuck hot water bottles into your bed at turndown and leave Belmond treats like you’re some sort of adored aristocrat. Breakfast? Phenomenal. Evening snacks? Delicious. The full restaurant menu looked fantastic too, but honestly, I was far too busy floating through my private-resort fantasy to choose anything else. There’s also a spa, which I tragically didn’t have time to use because I was too busy being obsessed with the pool area overlooking the valley. Now for the twist: We were the only two guests in the entire place. Twenty casitas, 59 acres, countless llamas—and just us. It felt like we accidentally rented the whole resort for ourselves without knowing. Imagine an entire team of lovely humans focused solely on keeping you fed, hydrated, relaxed, and emotionally supported. Chef’s-kiss perfection. And the setting? You’re tucked into the Colca Valley’s emerald folds, a short wander from ancient cliffside colcas and a quick drive to the canyon where condors drift overhead like they own the sky. Belmond Las Casitas is part luxury hideaway, part Andean fairytale, part “is this real life?”—and now officially my favourite place I’ve ever stayed. 10/10 would absolutely get “accidentally alone” in a luxury canyon resort again. Also, if anyone knows how to smuggle a baby alpaca in a suitcase… I’m asking for a friend. 🦙

Fabulous place to stay

I highly recommend Las Casitas, the location is fabulous, the cottages are superb and the staff were lovely. We especially enjoyed our breakfast in Tapai and seeing the condors. Only wish we could have stayed longer to make the most of all the activities on offer.
