With a flawless design and a spectacular setting, Alila Villas Uluwatu marries Balinese culture with modern design. Perched atop a magnificent plateau abutting limestone cliffs, the ocean below bellows with the sound of crashing waves and creates a melodic echo with every crest. There are 84 sustainably-designed villas concealing interiors that are contemporary and uncluttered, with overtones of traditional Balinese textures including rattan and stone. The multi-room villas, each with its own pool, radiate with luxury and boast such appointments as private bars, outdoor dining nooks, private cabanas, and stylish baths with both indoor and outdoor showers. There is also 24-hour butler service, which adds an effortless element to your stay.

Alila Villas may just be the best resort we have ever been to (and we have been to many luxury resorts all over the world). The resort is very spacious and beautifully designed - modern contemporary combined with authentic Balinese. There were plenty of staff and the service was exceptional across the resort’s restaurants, bar, sommelier, concierge, housekeeping and butler. The food at the resort (breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service) was delicious and varied. My partner had his best meal ever at the Balinese restaurant! The resort is quite centrally located - town is a cab right away. Vincent and Victoria were excellent managers and went above and beyond to make our stay special and peaceful. The two villas we stayed at were gorgeous, particularly the second one on the cliff edge. We highly recommend and would love to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Alila Villas Uluwatu! Overall magical view, friendly and professional staff, spacious room. We enjoyed walked around the property, played in the private pool (although it was still a bit cold in July as not heated!). Breakfast at CIRE was great! Though we needed to pay for breakfast (not globalist anymore), they waived for our kids and the quality was 5 stars. Dinner at The Warung had friendly staff, good presentation, delicious and interesting mocktails. Personally I think the food was a bit too pricy and salty for the Indonesia fried rice, and beef tongue stew compared to what we have experienced in rest of the Bali so unfortunately not my favorite. Other than that, we love this place!

The property and staff set Alili Uluwatu up to be a 5 star rating. Unfortunately our experience was decidedly sub par due to multiple back to back weddings. For one of our nights a wedding had a live bad with full drum set from 4-10pm that was close enough we heard all the toasts, cymbals, and partiers yelling inside our room let alone by our private pool. We had been looking for calm and relaxing which this was not so we decided to head to the whiskey and cigar bar Batique only to find that this was also closed to us due to the same wedding. In reality Batique was only open a couple hours to us non-wedding guests for the entirety of our stay here due to multiple weddings. Ideally a heads up of extremely limited facility availability would have been provided to allow the potential for plan adjustments. Again the staff and property are great but the message we got is that wedding guests are more important than non-wedding guests. Which from a practical standpoint I can understand as I'm sure they bring in more money than non-wedding guests. But given the clear preference for specific types of guests I'd be extremely hesitant to return. If there is a small wedding or even no wedding I'm sure this would be an amazing stay for someone. But there are enough great hotels in Bali - why take that risk?

This is a note to thank Vincent the GM and the Alila Team for hosting our birthday party so well at CIRE. It was such an honour and they way the team handle everything was amazing. My highlight was the GM personally had the best attitude and kindness when i was panic about a dinner party due to weather and he has lead the team so well that they had a plan B that reassured me the event would come out amazing and it did while the weather was perfect ! So i just want the world to know how great this Hotel is and i would continue to support them after 15 years I have done so.

Family of 3 from Boston. Stayed 3 nites and 4 days. Due to traffic and relatively narrower roads arrived around 7pm, coming from Ubud. We checked in and headed to Indonesian hotel restaurant. The Indonesian/Bali food was wonderful. The staff took the time to explain each dish. We had carried an opened bottle of Bali wine (from lunch in Ubud) and the staff was kind enough to serve that in proper glasses. And here we met Putu. The next 3 days Putu made our stay especial through attention to details. As we were curious of Balinese cuisine and drinks , he recommended drinks (mixed, beer) and dishes for lunch and dinners. Next day in the AM we took in the view of the grounds. Just phenomenal view to the ocean. We had breakfast in the International restaurant, complement for being Globalist. This was a la carte, with familiar and Balinese cuisine. And here Putu once again helped navigate the cuisine. The fruit serving was excellent, with a variety of mixed fresh fruits l. We were more found of a specific subset, and Putu made sure were got that subset for each breakfast. The villa was spacious with private pool and cabana. Outdoor (very private) shower included. We spent half of one day in our pool. The grounds are large enough for a morning run of 5km or more, which I took advantage of each day. For a nice PM activity, the large sized cabana by the pool overlooking the ocean was just nice. Very breezy with ocean winds to cool off the heat. And here Putu recommended mixed drinks for cooling down. From this cabana there is a set of stairs to go to the ocean level for a small private beach. The steps are a bit over 600. Thus 1200+ for round trip. This alone will give you a good workout. The beach is mix of sand and volcanic rock. We took advantage of the professional photographer photo shoot session. The basic set is complementary, but we got the full package (mix of hard and digital copies), which was worth it. During our 4 days of stay , except one lunch, we dined at the hotel restaurants. The quality of food and service was that good. One evening Putu arranged for a prefix course dinner with wine pairing. Wonderful again. Fusion Balinese cuisine. From the gardeners to buggy drivers , the entire staff are friendly and courteous. We were blessed to have experienced this stay.

“The Alila Uluwatu is a truly gorgeous property with breathtaking views. It was the perfect end to our honeymoon. I strongly recommend the hotel for a private getaway for couples although there were some families present at the time we were there. Definitely a very pricey hotel. The saying ""if you have to ask then you probably can't afford it"" I think fits well. However with views and luxury behind them I figure one shouldn't complain. Really miss waking up to seeing my private pool, cabana and the blue skies and seas of the Indian ocean sprawled out before me. Service couldn't be flawed either. Smiles everywhere accompanied by genuine interest to make sure all was well with meals, spa, rooms etc."
