We first saw this hotel in 2018 whilst doing a cruise ship excursion to Carcassonne and always intended to return, we did so to coincide with our 20th wedding anniversary on 1st May. We stayed for 4 nights from 29th April and from the minute we were dropped off by the taxi at the car park we experienced nothing less than 5 star treatment, every member of staff made us very welcome. We were allocated a terrace suite which had commanding views over the town and also the chateau ramparts. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained as you would expect in a hotel of this class. On our anniversary we received a nice surprise of a bottle of champagne with a lovely hand written congratulary note from management and a beautiful towel sculpture of 2 swans, our anniversary was further recognized at the barbicane restaurant by the attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us as we enjoyed the 6 course (+4 free courses) signature menu. The library bar is a peaceful and relaxing venue to finish the night. The hotel is without doubt one of the finest we have stayed in , full of character, finesse and friendly, polite staff. The hotel offers to book taxis for you and I highly recommend this service particularly upon arrival at the airport as they are hard to come by and saves a long wait. You will be phoned by the driver as you progress through passport control. Carcassonne cite itself oozes history and has many good restaurants we visited Chez Christine and also Adelaide (twice) amongst others. The hotel is next door to the Basilica and we listened to a mass taking place (we were lucky enough to hear a Russian male voice choir in 2018) the acoustics are excellent. We had a thoroughly relaxing break and so glad we chose this hotel for our anniversary.

Amazing hotel situated in the castle of Carcassone. We were celebrating our anniversary and were upgraded to a suite which made our stay even more special. Beds were so comfortable and great location. Had dinner at restaurant which was exceptional. Super cool bar and friendly service. Would love to go back!!!

This is an exceptional 5 Star hotel in one of the most stunning settings imaginable. We would strongly recommend staying at the Hotel de la Cite' when visiting Carcassonne.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful three night stay including dinner at La Barbacane. The location is quite amazing, as are the views. If you are going to visit Carcassonne it is well worth staying in the Cité as everything is on your doorstep. The rooms are luxurious and the service superb. Highly recommended!

Spent one night at this hotel and had a nice time. You can't beat the location, situated within the walls of Carcassonne. The bar lounge is a nice place for a drink and the gastronomic dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. The service throughout the hotel (check-in, bar, restaurant, etc.) was good. We were there in April so didn't get to enjoy al fresco dining but I can imagine that this hotel is very nice in the warm months as they have a lovely garden. The only thing that could have been better was our room, which felt tired and in need of updating. Despite this, I would still recommend this hotel as the overall experience was good.
