Stayed here for one night before travel home the next day. Room not ready when we arrived and had to wait for over an hour. Stayed in one of the pool villas. On superficial exam, the villa looked amazing but it is showing its age and in need of refurbishment. There were stains and cracks in a few places and broken tiles and pool was nice but extremely cold to swim in. Dinner at the fine dining Thai restaurant was excellent and breakfast was also very good. For the price we paid, we would have been disappointed if we had a longer stay since the rooms we stayed in definitely needs refurbishing but the rest of the hotel was in good shape.

I don’t even know where to start… this wasn’t just a spa day — this was an experience I’ll remember for a long time. From the moment we walked in, everything slowed down. The atmosphere, the scent, the energy… it felt like stepping into another world. I booked this spa package for me and my woman, and it turned into one of the best decisions of the entire trip. We were taken care of by a therapist named Brownie snd micky — and wow. Truly next level. Her touch was perfect — strong when it needed to be, gentle when it mattered most. You can tell instantly when someone takes pride in their craft, and she absolutely does. Every movement felt intentional, every detail dialed in. The whole experience flowed beautifully — from the scrub to the massage to just melting into complete relaxation. At one point I genuinely forgot where I was… just completely gone in the best way possible. And the best part? Sharing it. Being there with my woman, both of us completely relaxed, laughing after, feeling recharged… it hit different. If you’re even thinking about booking — do it. And if Brownie and micky is available, consider yourself lucky. She’s special. 10/10 experience. I’d come back just for that alone.

My wife and I have just concluded our latest six-week holiday at the Banyan Tree Phuket, this time calling the stunning Grand Lagoon Pool Villa our home. To put it simply: our annual pilgrimage to Banyan Tree remains the undisputed highlight of our year. The Magic The resort is, quite frankly, a slice of paradise. The landscape —with its iconic lagoon— is visually peerless. Then there is the breakfast buffet: a culinary marathon that offers everything one could possibly desire, all executed with superb quality. We encountered a rather unique approach to cleanliness: when a seat cushion was gifted with bird droppings, the solution was simply to swap it with a clean one from the neighboring chair. This is undeniably an efficient 'redistribution of dirt". However, the true crown jewels of the resort are the staff. Their warmth and proactive helpfulness are extraordinary; they don't just provide a service, they seem personally invested in ensuring every guest feels like royalty. The Reality Check (For Objectivity’s Sake) It pains me to offer any criticism, but in the spirit of a fair review, there are two areas where the 5-star shine has dulled slightly: The "Vintage" Tech: It is 2026, yet the in-villa TV picture quality was underwhelming. And having only 30 channels to choose from feels a bit like traveling back to the late 90s. The Housekeeping Hiccups: This year, cleanliness was a nuisance. The floor tiles in the vanity and toilet areas were, to put it bluntly, dirty. We shouldn't have to wait until our feet turn black from walking around for a "deep clean" to be carried out. By now, the grime seems to have staged a permanent takeover of the tiles, which no longer meet the standards of a luxury resort. They either need a professional-grade intervention or a complete replacement. A "Personal" Connection: While the mirrors were wiped occasionally, they were never truly clean. In fact, a mirror near the shower featured dental floss splatters from the previous guests that remained our silent companions for the entire six weeks. It was a bit more "intimate" than we generally prefer from our accommodation. The Verdict Despite these housekeeping hurdles and the lack of TV channels, the positives still outweigh the negatives by a landslide. Banyan Tree remains our happy place, and we are already looking forward to our next stay. We just hope that next time, the only things we’re sharing the villa with are the beautiful views—not the dental history of the previous guests!
