Incredible start to our India adventure
Our stay at The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. The views of the Taj Mahal throughout the property are simply breathtaking, and waking up to such an iconic sight was magical. The swimming pool is stunning, with part of it sheltered under elegant arches supported by columns, creating a serene atmosphere. Every detail across the hotel is immaculate, reflecting the highest level of care. We stayed on a half-board basis, which included an excellent dinner menu without restrictions (drinks extra, as expected). Breakfast was equally impressive, with a perfect combination of buffet and à la carte options. The staff were consistently attentive, kind, and professional, making the entire stay seamless. A highlight was the morning tour of the Taj Mahal with a knowledgeable guide who brought the history to life. We were sad to only stay one night, but we would return in a heartbeat and recommend Amarvilas to anyone visiting Agra.

You cannot beat the view
This was my fourth visit to this hotel, and its level of excellence has not altered over two decades. It is a beautiful hotel with perfect views of the Taj Mahal from your balcony. The building greets you on rising and retiring. The hotel is unique in its beauty and meticulously clean. The staff is professional and friendly, and cannot do enough to ensure your needs are met in a timely manner. The Indian Restaurant is wonderful. You can choose from different dish banquets or à la carte, and the staff happily recommends regarding spice levels, etc. We had fantastic vegetarian dishes and an excellent Martini. The cafe-style breakfast room was welcoming, and the team was eager to please and assist with requests. There was a huge variety of breakfast items on offer, plus eggs to order. The rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms are generous in space, toiletries, and towels. The public and pool facilities are beautifu,and tranquil, and the staffis attentiv.. Highly recommended on every level.

The place to appreciate the Taj Mahal
This hotel is the perfect compliment to the Taj Mahal. Everything is thought through - from the early breakfast before the early morning Taj visit, to the options to shop and sight see around Agra. We had the amazing driver Suresh for everything during our two days there - including a trip to see Fatehpur Sikri. The pool, the restaurants, the evening performances, an amazing tour guide to the Taj . . . we look forward to coming back (this was our second visit.)
