Great Experience

I had a great time in the Celtic Warrior with Collette and Scott. Very wonderful boat with lots of amenities. The Champagne tasted great and the weather was amazing. The marina offered great views of Loch Lomond and I enjoyed delicious ice cream at the cafe afterwards.

What a disappointment and I am very sorry to have to write a public negative review. We gave the manager opportunity to prevent this but we still havnt recieved agreed recification after an abysmal stay. A long old list of failures that made our stay utterly dissapointing. Extremely expensive, this place will be stripping your bank account as quick as they can. Owned by private equity with zero love for the place or its customers. Rude grumpy staff, wobbly tables more suited to a truckers cafe, we were asked to leave the table half way through our meal as they had doubled booked it even though it had taken over an hour for them to take our food order, we only had time for a main meal. Items had been added to our bill which we hadnt had. The evening entertainment had packed up early so a wasted journey to the club house. We had to sit on each others knees on the way back to the hotel to save a 30minute wait in the rain. Our rooms were not ready and we had to chase keys and welcome packs. The rooms are small and stuffy, not worth the money at all. The outside area overlooking the loch is like a crematorium with dead flowers on benches in memory of the lost.. surely an area dedicated to this sort of thing would be more fitting. The best bit was Murray playing bagpipes and the guys on the door. Everything else fell far below our expectations. So very disappointing.

Simply avoid.

Standard 3 star hotel in a gorgeous location. Absolutely not worth the standard rates that was paid. Mass market hotel and not at all premium. Possibly the worst of the accommodations I stayed in, and not worth the price. Even breakfast orders cost extra. Avoid.

Beautiful Location but just a Holiday Inn

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Cameron House was always an annual trip for us as we were married at Loch Lomond, but haven’t been a guest since before the closure. This year however was our 10 Year anniversary, so I booked a two night trip. Unfortunately Cameron House, apart from the beautiful location and stunning house is now no more than a standard hotel when you get into the room. It is clean, however if your room isn’t looking upon the Loch, it’s just a basic hotel room. The problem I have with this is the price. I informed at booking that it was our anniversary, which was pointless, I expected a bottle of bubbly or sweet treats, which they used to do, but nothing. Instead charges for breakfast items outside of the buffet (which was good) but circa £15 extra for eggs benedict is a bit of a joke. Unfortunately due to the standard rooms no better than a Holiday Inn and the price being that of Gleneagles, it appears the customers of Cameron House are paying for the lost money during the closure. I’m sorry to say we won’t be returning at the current rates. You are not doing anything to be an exceptional experience. I’ve recently been a guest at a Holiday Inn and the rooms were on par with Cameron House which was a shock, with no extra charge for fresh kitchen items, which were fantastic.
