What a fabulous site for our family reunion! The hotel was clean and welcoming from the front desk to the bar, The dining room, and our room which was cheerful and bright. In particular I would like to thank Sam Shaheen and Beza Yared for their kind attention to our entire group of 20 individuals. I cannot think of a better location for a group of out of towners. Plenty of shopping, sightseeing, and excellent restaurants in a walkable neighbor hood. Looking forward to our next visit. Maureen Knowles

Lovely hotel, great location, and spotlessly clean rooms. But the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the two amazing guys working the front desk Beza Yared and Chris (I hope I have their names right!). Their energy was contagious! They were incredibly helpful, full of great advice, and handled everything with a smile and effortless efficiency. They made check-out a breeze and always had a moment for a friendly chat. Fantastic service!

We had a small gathering of friends and family and enjoyed the hotel immensely. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. We had the use of the 5 th floor hospitality suite for the 3 days,which was wonderful. The hotel location is perfect and made our friends and family comfortable. Kudos to the wonderful staff!

Coming from living in NYC, the Alexandrian made me feel like home! You really can’t beat the location — it’s super close to all the best restaurants, shops, and everything else you’d want to explore in Old Town. The staff truly made the experience. Bella, Nyla, Sam, and Beza were all fantastic — they went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Even when a couple of small issues came up, the team handled them quickly and efficiently with a smile, which made all the difference. If you’re visiting Alexandria, I definitely recommend staying here. Great location, great people, and just an all-around awesome vibe!

Disappointing Experience with Destination Fee and Poor Customer Service: I recently stayed at The Alexandrian Hotel in Old Town Alexandria and was very disappointed by the handling of the hotel’s $25 destination fee. The fee was supposed to include a pass for free admission to nine historic Alexandria sites, which was one of the reasons I chose to stay there. When I went to the front desk to get my pass, the manager on duty told me they were out of passes — with a dismissive “too bad, so sad” attitude. When I asked to speak to someone else, she said no manager was available. I ended up paying for admission to one of the sites out of pocket. After returning to the hotel with my receipt, I escalated the issue and only after going back and forth was I finally given a credit to reimburse me. While I appreciate that resolution, the experience left a very negative impression. The front desk manager’s attitude was unprofessional and not what I expect from a Marriott property. The destination fee felt misleading — it’s advertised as including certain perks that weren’t actually available. This kind of inconsistency undermines trust and the hotel’s otherwise good reputation. I hope management addresses the staff’s customer service training and ensures advertised amenities are actually provided.
