Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi

Stayed 5 nights. Amazing views of Amalfi Town and the Sea. Service levels pre-check in and during the stay can be improved. Currently, not what I expect of a 5 or 6 star hotel especially for the Anantara Brand and the exorbitant rates. The guest relations manager did her very best to address my concerns (communications, responsiveness, shuttle) during the stay and she was very open to my feedback. In fairness, the staff at the restaurants and the pool were excellent. In terms of hardware, the Hotel's facilities (pool) are generally good. The rooms are large as the convent/monastery it an old historic building. But as with old historic buildings and the nature of the architecture, the wifi can be inconsistent at various parts of the room. The plumbing in the shower area can also improved, as there can be a smell that also attracts flies. I did not raise this because it is the nature of old historic buildings. Overall, amazing views, high in Amalfi, from an old historic convent/monastery. Hope the service levels improved as it is a fairly new hotel.

The experience my partner and I had at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The entire staff is incredibly kind and welcoming -and that, to us, is the most important thing. Of course, the hotel itself is beautiful, but what truly makes the difference is the people. We felt genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived. At reception, Martina and all the ladies were amazing -always smiling, always polite, with such great attention to detail and to the guests’ needs. Breakfasts were exceptional, and the staff was always ready to serve with professionalism and warmth. At the spa, a special mention goes to Chiara, who gave me an exceptional massage. She has golden hands and a rare sense of empathy and care -I was deeply impressed by how attuned she was to the client’s needs. My partner and I had a couple’s massage, and while I was with Chiara, he was with Maria Antonia (or possibly Maria Antonietta, I’m not sure). Both were excellent. I highly recommend the spa and especially Chiara -truly a beautiful experience. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return. This was a five-star welcome and stay in every way.

This was our first time visiting the Amalfi Coast, and while the hotel itself is beautiful, our overall stay was disappointing — especially for the price we paid (around €2,400 per night). Firstly, the room was very small. Even with a view of the water, it felt cramped and didn’t justify the cost. More importantly, we weren’t able to get any sleep. The building controls the room temperature, and despite assurances that it was set to the lowest setting, the room remained warm throughout the night. We ended up sleeping in a sweat, making it challenging to enjoy the next day as we had hoped. Although the staff was very kind and accommodating, the experience didn’t live up to the standard we expected for the price point. We left feeling disappointed and a bit sad about the experience.

True luxury resort in the centre of Amalfi. The views and location from the hills is simply mind blowing. Staff & service were excellent; the rooms great with touches of heritage and view from the infinity pool is spectacular. The perfect get away from the business of the Amalfi coast. Make sure to book a spot at the Dei Cappucini restaurant for authentic Italian fine dining. A must stay when planning to visit Amalfi coast region

I can’t praise this hotel highly enough. It starts with a stunning location above the bay & beautifully appointed accommodation which the staff live up to with great service, anticipating our needs & meeting them. Spa was excellent & we dined in the hotel every night. The food, wine & service in both restaurants was exceptional.
