Seemingly molded into the side of a jagged cliffside is the Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi – part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Teetering high above the Amalfi Coast, this former 13th-century monastery is now a glorious hotel situated along the Italian seaboard. Impeccably restored to its original splendor, yet not without expected conveniences, the Grand Hotel features just 53 tasteful rooms and suites with a white motif and latte accents. French doors push open revealing Juliet-style balconies encased with ornate iron balustrades and million-dollar seascape views. The hotel's crisp alabaster color scheme is infused with brilliant hues courtesy of blooming bougainvillea, leafy emerald plants and azure reflections from the sea.

Many hotels describe themselves as five-star properties, yet not all deliver on that promise. Anantara truly stands apart. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed, and it genuinely lives up to its five-star reputation. The property itself is remarkable, set within one of the oldest buildings, originally a monastery dating back to the 13th century. Despite this rich history, the interior is impeccably modern and pristine, creating a unique contrast that makes you momentarily forget the building’s age. The views from our room were breathtaking, adding to an already memorable experience. Equally impressive was the staff—consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend this hotel. It offers a rare combination of historic charm, modern luxury, and exceptional service, making it one of the finest places I have ever experienced.

We came here for the last two nights of our 11 day honeymoon in the Amalfi coast with the goal for a relaxing and easy stay with beautiful views. We had an amazing experience at the property, which is simply immaculate and creative. You feel like you are separate from all the commotion and just get to soak in the natural scenery and setting on the cliffs. We had the best meals of our entire trip at the restaurants here.

We loved Convento Anantara so much it was almost painful to leave. I’ve traveled to Italy many times, but this experience was entirely different—far beyond a hotel stay. It felt like a full immersion into Italian culture at its finest. This resort is breathtaking. The sweeping views of the Amalfi Coast are nothing short of spectacular, and every corner of the property—from the meticulously kept grounds to the peaceful cloister and chapel—felt like stepping into a work of art. What truly sets Anantara apart, however, is the service. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and grace that it immediately set the tone for everything that followed. Every interaction reflected a level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail that made us feel both pampered and completely at ease. The infinity pool overlooking the beautiful Tyrrhenian sea was easily one of our favorite highlights. It’s hard to imagine a more stunning setting, and the pool staff went above and beyond to ensure our family’s comfort—anticipating needs before we even had to ask. On our final evening, we experienced the chef’s tasting dinner, and it was unforgettable. Each course was creative, beautifully presented, and filled with flavors we’ll be talking about for years to come. This was not just a hotel stay—it was an experience our family will cherish forever. We cannot wait to return. One of my favorite phrases is “Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.” Grazie Mille Anantara Staff, you will be remembered!

The hotel is, sorry to say so, an expensive place, but if you intend to stay in the area for two or three days, just stay at this hotel for one day and experience what this hotel can offer you, If you are well to do, this is where you belong. The premises is wonderful and impressive, and need to add, you will enjoy meeting with people who enjoy working here.
