I booked this hotel based on good experience staying at Okura Hotel in Tokyo. Okura Amsterdam is a well run hotel, very friendly staff and front desk team. Location is a bit further out from the centre, but quiet and serene. Rooms were spacious and well maintained. Spa and pool area gets crowded very quickly. We only went once. Not very appealing. On site parking was very pricey, but it seems to be an Amsterdam wide issue.

Staff was wonderful. Every thing you would expect. But Nigel made our trip. This was a last minute trip so most things were booked given my timing. He offered to make some difficult attractions available. He succeeded and jut etched a smile in our faces. Thank you! Hotel is great location. Far enough away but close enough to all transportation, or walking. First class experience. Frank and Eileen

We had an exceptional stay! Pros 1. Every staff member was so friendly and helpful. We got a lot of helpful recommendations. 2. Our adjoining family rooms were spacious and so comfortable, especially after a long transatlantic flight. 3. The spa facilities are awesome. Our elementary-aged children loved the pool, hot tub, and sauna! (The steam room is in a no-swimsuit area.) 4. The breakfast buffet at Camellia was awesome! Tons of delicious fresh fruit, Japanese breakfast, English breakfast, lots of breads, yoghurt, etc. We loved the beverages too. Servers were great. 5. Room service breakfast on our very early departure day was outstanding! 6. Location is great — easy walk to lots of shops and attractions. 7. Housekeeping did a fabulous job! Rooms were very clean. We loved the robes, the L’Occitane products, and the slippers. We can’t say enough about how great this hotel is! The only improvement that the hotel should consider is removing the room carpet. While the hotel is very clean, it’s inevitable that such light-colored carpet will show some wear. We would absolutely return and recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a superior stay in Amsterdam.

We had a great stay at the Okura! The hospitality was truly exceptional. Nico (Nicolas)at the Camelia really made us feel at home and had great suggestions for our trip.Nigel and Caroline et al at the the concierge desk were very helpful. Please tell Nigel that we did make it to the restaurant near the museum. Just perfect! We really enjoyed Captain Mikes canal tour. All of the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The staff goes above and beyond to make for a great trip. And….the amenities at the hotel were really appreciated- sauna, large pool and gym were so nice to have after a day of sightseeing! And…yes, the food at the hotel - especially the breakfasts and the treats in the panorama lounge. Thanks ! Lynne and Dennis Miller The Okura is an oasis of calm

The service provided to us was extra ordinary. Started with warm welcome from Ashraf at the door to lovely check in by Aicha and Ezra. Were very attentive. Same for check out with Rochanie. Big thanks also to Roxana who prepared the room perfectly. If you seek feeling cared for and at home - this is the place to stay!
