Reviews for Zemi Beach House, LXR Hotels & Resorts

Bird Poop Palooza

I had such high expectations for Zemi based on reviews and ratings. Sadly the resort fell short for me. We first stayed at the Four Seasons (5 star all the way) for 4 nights, then Zemi Beach House for 2 nights. Preferred the Four Seasons for various reasons. Let's start with the good. The resort itself is lovely. The beach is stunning and the Infinity pool facing the ocean with daybeds, absolutely dreamy! Honestly one of the most beautiful beaches we have been to, and we've been to many. Beach and pool are a short walk from rooms which is super convenient. Room itself was spacious and well appointed. Amazing bathroom with indoor AND outdoor shower, also a soaking tub. Breakfast was decent, although they got my omelet order wrong both days. The Rhum room we almost didn't get to try (more on that later) is a must-do! Dinner at the sushi lounge was good, as was the live music. Service was mostly good, had to wait 30 minutes for an order of not very good guacamole...kind of annoying. I don't recall Beach service to order food and drinks. You had to go to the beach bar to order and they would deliver to your loungers. Cocktails were tasty and reasonably priced but weak. For the most part staff was very friendly. The Bad. Ocean view rooms are a must for us. My husband booked our 2 nights using loyalty points. To ensure an ocean view, my husband went with the additional point option of Ocean View. He was actually able to select the room on the websites site map. We picked what looked like an awesome ocean view room. When we arrived, we were informed that we had received an upgraded ocean view room, room 612. YAY!! As stated above, the room interior was very nice. Our room had a small balcony (another must have for me) with two chairs facing the beach at a side angle that had mostly a lovely view of the long stretch of beach. I say "mostly" because there was also a view of ongoing construction. When I walked out on the balcony I noticed some bird poop on the floor but didn't think too much of it. The following day I went on the balcony and discovered bird poop all over one of the chairs AND on my swimsuit that I had placed out to dry. GROSS. It was then that I realized the balcony wasn't really covered, it had wood slats that did not offer shade and was apparently a favorite pooping spot for birds. So basically the balcony was a completely unusable space as it offered no shade and the risk of being pooped on was high. This was an upgraded room?? Huh. I think I would have preferred the room we originally picked out. We viewed it from the outside and it did indeed have a fully covered balcony and had ocean views without construction views and noise. Sadly, no sitting outside enjoying the view for me. VERY disappointing. I honestly feel like we got screwed, we used a HUGE amount of points for these 2 nights, enough points to books 7 nights somewhere else nice. Had we been staying longer, We would have requested a different room, but it didn't seem worth the hassle for a 2 night stay and one night had already been spent before realizing the poop problem. I did call guest services to inform them of my pooped on swimsuit and large amount of poop on chair, they didn't have much to say other than to send suit to be laundered. I did so at no charge. No apology or remedy for poop problem given. UNLESS YOU ENJOY CONSTRUCTION NOICE AND ARE FOND OF BIRD POOP...DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 612. The other really annoying issue involved the Rhum Room. We had booked the Desert and Rum tasting in advance. I was so excited for this! While we were in our room getting ready, we got a call informing us that the person that runs the Rhum Room had called in sick (it was Mother's Day Sunday). They said it would be closed. They only have ONE employee that can work the Rhum Room?? No one could fill in? My husband was clearly disappointed and asked to reschedule for the following evening, he was told it would be closed the following night as well. Hmmmm, how did they know the person sick would still be sick the following night? Another huge disappointment as we were leaving Tuesday morning. No Rhum Room for us I guess. At dinner the following evening in the sushi lounge we overheard guests talking about heading over to their Rhum Room reservation. What?? We were told it would be closed? We walked over after dinner and sure enough, it was open! I guess it didn't occur to staff to call up and tell us it would be open after all. We would have missed the experience altogether had we not overheard others talking about it. Very poor customer care in my opinion. On a positive note, the Rhum Room was awesome! For a 5 star resort that costs 1k plus per night or a zillion loyalty points...this place fell short big time. Will definitely return to Anguilla...will we return to Zemi? Nope.

My family and I went to Zemi for a full week in March and we enjoyed every minute of it. From the moment we walked in we were treated with impeccable hospitality. They are quick to drive you down to areas of resort in the golf cart and carry bags when needed. Must haves/Dos -Complimentary snorkels make the day fun in the water -Early morning kayak ride was a nice activity before breakfast -The mushroom risotto was phenomenal -Make sure to get a reservation to the Wednesday night BBQ and get the lobster!! -For a little snack or dinner the sushi was delicious -Breakfast smoothies/juices were fresh and different every day -A quick walk to Gwen’s restaurant down the shoreline was delicious to eat local food -Costumer service was able to arrange MOKE cars for us with ease and it was a great way to explore the island -Tennis courts- they brought us out a cooler with ice which was a very nice touch -At turndown service they leave cookies that were so delicious Everyone was super friendly and it was the most relaxing vacation I’ve ever taken. We will be back!

Zemi Beach House Review

My family and I had a marvelous time visiting Zemi and the island of Anguilla. The turquoise ocean water and the white sand beach are just the tip of the iceberg of the property’s beauty. A highlight of our trip was the Wednesday night Caribbean BBQ. Our stay was elevated by the caring and talented staff. Zemi Beach is truly a magical place that I look forward to visiting again soon.

SPECTACULAR FIVE STAR RESORT!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My family went to Zemi beach club during Christmas break 2023-24 and had a spectacular time ! Mr. Ivo Scheunemann, Director of Operations, has his finger on the pulse of the resort and it is operated like a well-oiled machine! Our family had several food restrictions and allegies and the entire food and beverage staff were cautious to make sure we were all kept safe. That is so important to us when travelling on vacation. Especially noteworthy is the food and beverage staff starting with Claudio, their Director , who was always on site , working tirelessly to ensure all the meals served at the resort were first rate. I don’t believe there was a day we didn’t see him during our two week stay! The breakfast waitresses who greeted you each morning were all so pleasant and accommodating as well , as we were a large party with young children! Most noteworthy were Shameica, who my grand children drove a little crazy but she responded always with a smile , Josette, Lequan, and a special mention to Stacy, the assistant restaurant manager, who diligently watched out for our allergies throughout our stay, which was so appreciated by us! What a valued employee! Their guest services /concierge desk is one of the best I’ve ever dealt with in my travels! They were so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure that any reservation you made was honoured, and that you had a memorable experience! Most noteworthy would be Neller , who had innovative suggestions on where to eat and what activities/excursions to do, and who always eagerly assisted us with a sincere heartfelt smile, along with her staff Janelle, Jeanelle, and Italia. An absolute pleasure to deal with! Special mention goes out to Asih , their exceptional massage therapist, at their phenomenal spa for her superior attention and beyond relaxing massages. SHE IS THE BEST!! Shout out to our beach staff, Michael and Damien, who always made sure our family had our chairs and towels in the morning. No need to wake up very early as there’s plenty of chairs for everyone at the hotel, which was important especially considering we were there during the busy Christmas- New Year’s holiday season. Even Javan at their front reception desk was attentive and helpful! Can’t wait to go back next year! Was truly a five star experience! The Yoffes

Current Visit from 04.28 through 05.03

Currently at Zemi Beach House and wanted to provide the positive and Opportunities in real time after being here for 3 days with 3 more days to go. First…the resort is stunning! Paradise in Paradise! The beach is beautiful with crystal blue / green water and the softest sand I’ve ever felt on my feet! The resort room and amenities are great. Pros: - Boutique resort. The hostess said the resort was at maximum capacity due to a company retreat and it still feels small and intimate. The nice thing is nothing is a far walk. - All 3 on-site restaurants have been delicious. We haven’t had a bad meal - Customer service is good, but not great- see my opportunity comments below. I still want to give the resort their credit. - Malin+Goetz bath products are provided! Rum body wash, peppermint shampoo, cilantro hair conditioner and bar soap. They provide large pump bottles in the shower and smaller bottles on the countertop. - Rooms have ceiling fans which is a wonderful surprise. Some patios have fans too. - We requested additional bath salts for the tub, extra pillows, and large sandals and all requests were met. - We had a warm room and concierge sent maintenance quickly and the room has been cold ever since the repair, so we greatly appreciate this! (this was on day 1) - Spa treatment- we did the couples bliss retreat which was an 80-minute massage and facial. We both enjoyed our treatments and the facilities were beautiful. Both the LMTs did a great job. The cost was high; however for a luxury resort spa, it was on brand, but also the most expensive we’ve ever spent and we did splurge ($780+ tip). - Stone Restaurant was excellent- the sea bass for 2 and the entire team from the host, waitress, table runner, and restaurant manager all made our dinner wonderful. - Front desk staff were gracious and provided a nice warm welcome. They also assisted us with coordinating a rental car for 2 days and made it easier than domestic car rentals. The welcome rum punch and fruit punch with cool orange infused towel are a nice touch as well. - news letter with news articles are a nice touch for the mornings as well. Opportunities: - Customer Service isn’t bad, but it’s not what I was expecting with it being an LXR / Hilton brand in all honesty. Everyone has been friendly, but the attentiveness is not at a 5-star level you would expect. I’ve had better service at all-inclusive brands in Mexico and at other resorts in and out of the U.S. My speculation and personal reasoning to this is that there is a guaranteed 17% service charge / gratuity included on every meal. There is an option to include additional tip, which we have, but I just am disappointed in the lack of customer service, but again- it’s just subpar. - Day 1 at the pool- we were in the pool for roughly an hour and twenty minutes before anyone came over to ask us if we wanted a drink. This was as we were walking out to leave and get ready for dinner. - While we are a Hilton Honors Diamond Status, there were no upgrades available (which I’m assuming is due to the conference) so they told us in lieu of this they granted us with gratis buffet breakfast. While this is a greatly appreciated perk and the breakfast has been very good, but it seems like they spin this for the guests when it’s really included for all guests. *not really the hotels fault* - The island has received unusual amounts of rain over the past 2 days. Feedback would be to provide games or covered options for guests to still interact and engage (board games, large jenga, large checkers, playing cards, or trivia). - While Malin+Goetz bath products are provided! The large pump bottles are fastened to the wall and the rum body wash has been empty since we arrived. We asked concierge to have housekeeping refill the body wash and either the bottle is broken, & instead of replacing it, they have just added 2 mini bottles to the shelves for us at housekeeping & turn down service, which we are going through relatively quickly. - Kids Club- we did not bring our daughter, but the kids club has been closed this week so if you have kids, plan accordingly. - the pool and beach team does a good job with setting up towels and providing ice water when you sit down, but they don’t check on the guests often. We and several other guests found ourselves flagging down / chasing after the associates. - A snack or mini coffee or desert shop would be a nice feature if it was an option. Shout outs: Tiffany, Jean, Uniqua, and the entire Monday 04.29 Stone Restaurant Team - all have done amazing, to date!
