In a distant corner of heaven on earth, between Oban and Perth and approximately two hours north of Glasgow, the intimate and romantic Ardanaiseig Hotel sits in deeply wooded gardens overlooking the mysterious islands and crannogs of western Scotlandâ€(TM)s Loch Awe. Built as a Scottish Baronial manor in 1834, this authentic country house welcomes visitors with its roaring log fire in the library, chamber music recitals in the drawing room and refined games room. Adorned with gracious antiques and works of art, each bedroom is an idealistic destination unto itself, named after local mountains, glens, lochs and castles.

This has got to be my favourite place to stay, the hotel is just a stunning piece of history and relaxation. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you’re treated to the unique experience of this charming place. The staff are warm and friendly and comfortable to be around, they treat you like old friends returning for a visit. The rooms are stunning pieces of individuality and the surrounding grounds are simply heaven to walk around. The food is out of this world. Everything has been catered for. I’m so sad that this hotel is closing, we’ve had several stays here and would have loved to continue going there for a few days of relaxation. 5 stars isn’t enough!

This is far and away the best hotel at which we have ever stayed. It is a genuinely magical place with a quite unique style. It is hard to imagine a place more welcoming. One can go on and on about the extraordinary beauty of its position on Loch Awe,about its secret gardens, about the elegant and antique filled rooms, about the food and about the warmth of service. The fact is that this hotel is special one of a kind and not to be missed. We found this wonderful place last year and just wish to keep on coming

A truly wonderful place to be ...it is undoubtedly the best hotel we have stayed in in many years. The staff are outstanding ...warm and welcoming with nothing too much trouble. The hotel itself is beautiful and its setting is stunning. it is quite magical and peaceful in equal measure and was just what we needed to recuperate from a fairly tough year. I hope we will be able to visit for many years to come.

Another blissful stay at this wonderful place on the shores of Loch Awe. Warm and friendly staff, big comfortable rooms with awesome views and food to die for. Chef Mike really knows how to showcase the best Scottish produce. Already booked our return visit

This was a special occasion for three days with family and friends. We have stayed before I this lovely old hotel on the shore of Loch Awe. On this occasion we were faced with a total power outage as a result of Storm Eowym for three days. The staff looked after us do well despite the challenges they faced improvising with cold buffets, barabaque dinners , log fires all creating a memorable, warm and friendly atmosphere.
