It’s a beautiful hotel inside even though the outside may not show it. The room is also very clean with a comfortable bed. Very nice staff. The shower has lots of hot water and the blackout curtains do a great job keeping it dark at night. The tram is very close to the hotel (closer than the train) so it’s easy to get to all the good stuff in the city. The breakfast bar is delicious! We really enjoyed it!

Could easily have been a 5-star review. The Good Not a bad word to say about any of the staff. Always friendly, polite and courteous. Very attentive and always ready to engage rather than have to be approached. Breakfast is a tranquil affair. The restaurant never got too busy and buffet has a good range of dishes. The rooms are very well appointed and generous size. The coffee and side tables as well as love seat and sofa make a lovely ad hoc entertaining space without cramping the room. I have stayed in smaller junior suites ! The re-decorating is very well thought out. The lighting and mood controls are superb. Set any level of ambiance you need. The refurb has included USB-A and USB-C socket points. Mightily up to date. The bed is wonderfully comfortable. The standard pillows are too soft; sinking down to nothingness. But there is a very good range from the pillow menu to suit all sleep. The Bad Drain, sewage smell in bathroom. Deffo the room and not just hotel smell as 2nd room in our booking didn’t have smell. Both times reported - in all fairness staff were brilliant, contacting services to have a look as soon as we informed. But smell still there to end. Had to follow up both times to get report on what, if anything, had been done. But we were only there 4 nights so got fed up complaining and just put up and shut up. Picked this hotel due to view from top floor bar of Acropolis. Had booked through BA holidays and hotel portion was non-refundable and not apparent on BA site bar was out of action. But still being advertised. Felt a bit let down a key selling point of the hotel was out of action and no alternate options available. We did ask as reception when looking at other rooftop bars. But I did query if anything at hotel was available to have a drink while admiring view. Only option given was day pass for Club ($130 for 2 Adults !) and not even suggestion of being able to buy a drink there. Intercontinental let themselves down here. Could have been proactive about the room smell - comped a couple of drinks to make up for smell. And for high level view - again could have offered some club incentive or make accommodation for loss of amenity. Like I say was only there for 4 nights - so it’s a balancing act allocating time to resolve issues versus enjoying Athens. But this is an Intercontinental hotel and I expect the service to be forthcoming. IHG have let themselves down as a brand by not being pro-active. Like I say this could easily have been 5-stars. Will I book with IHG again ? Probably yes but I will hold next visit to a higher standard.

From the moment I arrived, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The customer service is truly top tier—every staff member I interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to please. It’s rare to find a team so committed to making every guest feel valued. It’s clear the hotel invests in both quality and professionalism. Cleanliness was impeccable throughout my stay. From the lobby to the rooms to the spa, everything felt fresh, well‑maintained, and thoughtfully cared for. An added bonus was traveling during the off‑season. The pricing was far below that of other hotels in the area, making the entire stay an incredible value on top of an already flawless experience. Five stars without hesitation.

Top notch hotel! Everything was perfect. I can't fault a thing. The refurbished rooms are gorgeous and spacious, the staff throughout the hotel is wonderful, breakfast is amazing with fantastic service and the lobby bar/restaurant was great too with delicious food. It's a 10 min walk to the nearest metro station, which is very easy to navigate.

We booked 5 nights using points and upgraded to a suite using a suite award. We are IHG Diamond members, so we were also able to use the Executive Lounge. The hotel was undergoing renovations, so we weren't able to stay in a suite with a balcony. However, the hotel arranged a newly renovated suite, 916, which we were happy with. The only downsides were the lack of a bathtub and one interior door that wasn't very easy to close. The hotel's Executive Lounge was excellent, with superb staff and views. I must commend them!
