Beautiful, relaxing resort with an amazing view!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

I booked this to stay a couple extra days to relax after a busy cruise and this resort far exceded my expectations! When I checked in we got upgraded to a beautiful bungalow on the Mediterranean and wow - talk about peaceful! They had club cars to pick us up when we wanted to go to breakfast or the beach and it was such a luxurious experience that I highly recommend this resort. The staff was beyond helpful and so kind and respectful.

Great Place

We spent 5 wonderful days at Grand Resort Lagonissi. This is an exceptional resort. Exceptional level of service. Great atmosphere, great attitude from all the staff, outstanding breakfast. Cleanliness and order at a very high level. In particular, we would like to mention the manager of the reception desk Mr. Panagiotis Lachanas - a kind and pleasant manager who helps with joy and a smile, solves every request and makes the place very serviceable. We will definitely return to Grand Resort

Beautiful hotel and peninsula, a little work needed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Some of the reviews here seem quite harsh We had a great stay here, not flawless but a great stay all the same. Our beachfront bungalow was beautiful. Yes, a little old-world but in a stylish, 1950s grand hotel type way with polished wood and slats. Stepping almost off your lawn onto the beach and straight into the sea was wonderful, as were the little gardens at the front of each of them. The pensinsula itself is gorgeous. Large, feels peaceful and at ease with itself, and swept around with the ocean and long sea views almost everywhere. The main hotel and pool are super well maintained, a little corporate maybe but nice and the restaurants and beaches were all in great condition and each had their own sense of style Service was great as well. Again, a little corporate, but polished, friendly, helpful especially the concierge, the watersports people and a (almost all) the reception and bar/ restaurant people. Buggy service was quick and good, loads better than in other places, but it worked really well for us. What are the annoyances? Not huge but there is some stuff around the edges The rooms, whilst beautiful, could use a bit of work at the edges. For example, the air conditioning can be loud and rattles (yes, first world problems but a bit annoying when you're trying to sleep). The peninsula itself isn't near any real eating or drinking options, so you need a cab to get anywhere. And the food and drink at the hotel feels excessive. Yes, of course it will be expensive, but some of it is excessive. The evening eating options would really benefit from having a "regular" restaurant that just did informal, more sensibly priced food, especially when you've got teens in tow vs. what are broadly two very high end restaurants (one Peruvian/ Japanese and one fine dining) and a seafood restaurant. Some of the beachfront bungalows are near the main Athens road. Not visible, but if you're in one of those then the hum of traffic is quite the constant during the day in contrast to the peace of the rest of the pensinsula. And lastly, I recognise that room change is better to happen for the staff in the morning vs. in the heat of the day . But seriously, we were turning them away each day from about 10am onwards, and having them come back every half hour to ask again. Which ain't ideal if you want some quiet or just to sleep in.

Beautiful location, phenomenal staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

My husband and I stayed here at the end of June for a wedding and we loved it. The staff was so kind and accommodating, the location was stunning and the food was great. As if we couldn't love this hotel any more, upon leaving Athens and heading to another Island, we ended up missing our flight home. The airline was not helpful and made us stay an extra day in Athens. We didn't know what to do so we called Grand Resort Lagonissi and let them know our situation and that we had checked out 5 days ago but needed a last minute room. They were SO helpful, and even offered to send a car to the airport to pick us up. The staff turned a bad situation around for us, and I could not be more grateful.
