JW Marriott Auckland

Nice hotel, everything that you expect when booking in JW Marriott, the facilities (fitness center, swimming pool and sauna) in wonderful. The location of the hotel is the middle of Auckland, near of everything that you need. I really recommend this hotel

Our stay at the JW Marriott Auckland was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff was so kind and welcoming and always offering to help. The rooms are really nice with coffee, tea and hot chocolate fixings and the bed is so incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was also very nice with the large mirror and bathtub. The location is ideal, walking distance to the waterfront and ferry for Waiheke wine tasting, SkyCity, restaurants and shopping. The breakfast buffet at Trivet restaurant inside the hotel was amazing, with fresh fruit, pastries, and both Western and Asian options. We also liked the sauna, cold plunge, gym and pool after a long day of walking tours. If you're looking for a wonderful experience in Auckland the JW Marriott is the perfect choice. The entire staff were wonderful and we wish we knew all their names. We want to say a special thank you to Kristina at the front desk and Dan at the restaurant. Keep spreading kindness - you made our trip beyond wonderful. Thank you. We would absolutely stay again!

Easily the nicest property in Auckland imo. They had a remodel of the lobby recently and they really did a great job on creating that sense of subtle baroque and elegance Ive come to associate with JW Marriott hotels. Kristina, the front office manager, runs a tight ship and it shows from the moment you walk through the door. The staff as a whole are friendly and hospitable and everyone knows their place in so far as what they are supposed to do and the standard they are to perform to. Sophia, working at the bar area, exemplifies this mindset. Sadly, thats not always guaranteed at higher tier Marriott properties in the US, but the performance at this JW ranks up with some of the St.Regis/Ritz properties Ive stayed at - attentive but not overbearing, friendly but not familiar. The rooms themselves are a treat. Probably one of the best beds Ive ever rested in with good, fresh pillows. The wood styling of the rooms combined with the rather granular lighting system and the rather scenic windows means you can have the warm inviting room during the day and then suitably darken it when you need to sleep. Some of my favorite rooms honestly, across Marriott. The suites they provide are legitimately worthy of the name, and worth the price they ask. The restaurant recently changed its menu, and the offerings are fantastic. The smoked oysters with marrow, octopus carpacchio, and beef tartare do not come cheap, but are definitely worth the purchase price. The American bartender there (Dre, I believe his name is) makes a fantastic cocktail, and is extremely personable. He would not have been out of place in a 1920s speakeasy. All in all, you cannot go wrong with this JW Marriott. I especially recommend it if you have some of the higher status (Platinum+) in Bonvoy. Its always a dice roll with how much properties want to nod to status, but this JW respects it.

The hotel is conveniently located on Albert Street close to the center of the city for restaurants, cafes and shopping as well as the Harbor area. Clean, spacious and intact room/bathroom and furnishings. Amenities provided. Dining/beverage services not available for late arrivals; required to order from in-room dining services.

Stayed here for a week on a work trip. Really great hotel and next time I’m in Auckland I’ll return for sure. Felt like home away from home for my week here. Good service with friendly staff. It’s the little things that matter, particularly when you’re somewhere for an extended time. Being remembered by name by the breakfast staff and the bar staff, for instance, was nice. Room was very comfortable and in very good condition. Gym was nice. There’s also a pool that looked nice but I didn’t try it. Lobby bar is excellent, particularly because the staff are so attentive and friendly. Went there every night! Overall, great high end hotel.
