JW Marriott Auckland

The rooms are not meant for a family of 4. They dont have any super king beds not proper queen beds in twin room. The bathroom shower cubicle is super small like a cruise, very claustrophobic. Though the bathroom is big. The flush and showers dont have proper pressure. If you on the basin tap , the hot water slows down in shower, thats funny for a 5 star hotel. There are big fresh paint patches in our room ceiling all over. The hotel is centrally located near auckland tower. They had been quite accommodating for our early breakfast needs. The overall service was great. But surely dont expect a JW mariott standard. Its more of a courtyard.

Finally stepping foot here after my cancelled trip 2 yrs ago 🍀 Turns out this was indeed a better time to visit than back then as the renovation has been fully completed since and more importantly the Executive Lounge is now opened yay ❤️❤️ The room still feels very new and I really like the modern design - something about the underbed lighting which feels quite cosy. Only the bathroom shows its age due to the old tiles but still a very decent space for the trip. Bed is the Asian firm type and i slept really well! 🍾 Executive Lounge on the lobby level was as usual my dinner / drinks spot each evening and the warm wooden tones was not bad though feels a little too dark. Only tried the Hors’D Oeuvres from 4-8pm (very generous timing!) and it was a pleasant spread of small notes with enough proteins as dinner, alongside cheese and vegetables / salad stuff 🧀🌱 Lucked out staying during Easter as elites get to eat breakfast at Trivet and it’s a full spread of everything for every palate including eggs made to order - and I liked the full on salad spread for my veg quota 🐣 Location was great right smack in CBD and walking distance to everything that matters 👍 Small stuff that marred stay though: 1) Housekeeping - spotty for a luxury hotel: bathroom floors not cleaned and the next night I had to reach out to ask them to clean it properly, and that was only done at 5ish. Weird that sorting out the bathroom floor is not part of the routine. 2) Fitness Centre - not staffed as guests enter by keycards but this means the fact that 2 out of 4 treadmills not functioning was missed by the staff until I alerted them. 50% of the treadmills not working is not okay! 3) Service - inconsistent experience ranging from super nice and warm to flippant or uninterested answers. Based on luck it seems?

We had an amazing 10-day stay at the JW Marriott Auckland, and Deepika in the lounge made such a big difference in our experience. From day one, she was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind! She always made us feel at home. She really went above and beyond, even surprising us with special treats, which was such a thoughtful touch. After staying for 10 days, you really notice exceptional service, and Deepika absolutely stood out. JW Marriott is lucky to have her!

We could not have been happier with our stay at the JW in Auckland. The location was terrific, in walking distance to all of our planned destinations. The room, a huge corner suite with truly separate bedroom and sitting area, was exceptional and provided a private retreat with an amazing view. The staff was friendly and helpful. The executive lounge was outstanding, with plenty of food and drinks and a delightful breakfast. Will definitely return and will highly recommend to friends.
