Wonderful
Booked through Amex FHR for one night. Very friendly and helpful service at check in, received a room early, and had an amazing view of the harbor. Large beautifully appointed room. Breakfast was delicious, and service was excellent. Highly recommended!

All That Glitters is Not Gold
The Park Hyatt is a beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms and amenities. We arrived very early in the morning and were made to feel quite comfortable although our room wasn’t ready. By 10 am our room was ready. When we opened the door a bottle of champagne awaited us. While our experience with the room, bathroom and shower was excellent, the hotel had one bête noir. Dining service was significantly below par for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main hotel dining venue—Onamata. We complained to management twice, and they fell all over themselves apologizing and trying to make amends. The next meal after our complaints was much better. But then service returned to normal (bad) again. You may ask why we kept coming back for more. The reason is location. The hotel is somewhat isolated from the city business center. A nearby pedestrian bridge connects the hotel to city center about 10 minutes walk away. But boats have priority over people. Every time a boat passes by, the bridge lifts. Pedestrians must wait. The wait is usually about 5-7 minutes which wouldn’t be bad except for one other factor: heavy rain. It rains a lot in summer. On reflection we should have Ubered to other restaurants. But that doesn’t excuse Park Hyatt for poor food service. One more thing—the hotel bar was very good!

The best experience
Had the best experience at the Hyatt, everything to a high standard, staff were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. We were upgraded at check-in which was such a lovely surprise, and the room was fabulous, with amazing harbour and city views.

Fabulous Upscale Hotel on the Harbour
Park Hyatt Auckland is a very special hotel. The location is perfect right on the water overlooking Waitemata Harbour - a great area to walk and explore with many restaurants and a great theatre within easy walking distance. The rooms are so luxurious, and the service is impeccable. The restaurants are a real stand out. The breakfast at Onemata is sublime, and the coffee and scrumptious food to go at the Pantry are a great option.
