The Driskill

The Driskill is a special hotel in the old world Grand Hotel Style. Our concert at ACL was cancelled so we came back to the hotel and had cocktails and people watched for over two hours. It was very entertaining, to say the least, for a Saturday night.

We came to Austin to see 2001: A Space Odyseey in Glorious 70mm film at the Historic Paramount Theatre downtown. I chose the Driskill not only because I've always wanted to stay there, but also because of the relative proximity to the theatre, and the great match (Old historic beautiful theatre built in 1915, same for the hotel 1885). I would highly recommend this hotel, not only because it's gorgeous and a piece of history, but the service was great and the staff all did an incredible job of making us feel welcome and taken care of.

The property is absolutely beautiful but what really made it special was the customer service. We were traveling to Austin to introduce our 1 month old to family and friends there, needless to say traveling with a baby this age was very stressful but the staff at the Driskill went above and beyond anticipating our needs and helping us to ensure the smoothest stay. Everyone was so friendly from the front desk, housekeeping, valet, restaurant/bartenders. We booked the LBJ suite for the extra room (if you’re debating do it! It was an amazing room) the history of the hotel is seen throughout and very tastefully remodeling keeping the historical elements intact. You can hear a little bit of noise in the hotel at night from 6th street but nothing that kept us up. Overall highly recommend and will definitely be back!

You won't be disappointed staying the The Driskill. The building is gorgeous inside and out! The staff are professional and friendly. We were extremely pleased with the front outside valet service and valet staff. So helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional. Our entire stay was wonderful. The beds and pillows were so comfortable! I don't know what fragrance they pipe into the air system in the hotel, but it smells wonderful!!! First class all the way! We wanted to eat in the cafe/restaurant but ran out of time. It looked and smelled incredible!

Truly exceptional service and an unforgettable stay. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and well taken care of. The historic charm of the hotel is matched only by the professionalism and warmth of the team. Every detail from the beautifully maintained rooms to the seamless service was thoughtfully executed. A perfect blend of old-world elegance and modern comfort. I’ll absolutely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined and memorable Austin experience.
