The Driskill October 2025
The Driskill was such an amazing stay! I did not realize its historic ambiance but it was truly breathtaking. I enjoyed how close to downtown and all its attractions. It was either within walking distance or a short drive. We brought our 2 dogs and were delivered a dog bed for our pouches that arrived within 20 minutes of checking in. The valet parking was very convenient and was very speedy with getting our vehicle. I would definitely stay here again and actually planning another trip to the Driskill!

Lied to by manager Emily
6.5 months prior to our wedding anniversary trip, we reserved one of two Lonestar Suites. Called several times in the interim to confirm, and 3 days prior, received an email confirming our stay in the Lonestar Suite. Arrived to be told by manager Emily, that we'd been "upgraded" to the Landmark Suite which she claimed had an even bigger balcony than the Lonestar. Hubby was skeptical, as she declared this information, as he knew exactly the levels of rooms. Went to the Landmark room and were instantly angered that Emily lied to us. Room was tiny and had a tiny deck. Called Emily from the room, she offered to reduce the rate, and after some pressuring, she FINALLY admitted we'd been DOWNGRADED, as they'd given our room to someone else. We were infuriated that Emily believed we were dumb enough to not know we'd been duped. We immediately Googled nearby hotels, as we were not giving our $4,000 to Driskill. We were lucky to find the Presidential Suite at the Omni just down the street. We were never so happy to leave a place as we were to walk out of the Driskill. Had Emily been honest and taken responsibility, it would have been so much different. Don't trust Driskill with your reservation, and be aware that Emily will outright LIE to you, right to your face.

Great historical hotel
We stayed here for our honeymoon and stayed again for our 11th anniversary. It's a great hotel, and very centrally located just off of 6th street. We got room service and everything was fantastic, and although the bar is being renovated, we were still able to get drinks in the lobby. The one downside is it's an old hotel and the city of Austin has grown up around it so you won't be able to see much from your room.

Love the Driskill
The people at the Driskill along with the Hotel is a favorite of ours when in Austin. Check in to check out is seamless. Location is perfect.

We ere not advised that the hotel l was under construction, lobby bar and restaurant not open, hd to go to Gold Gym if you wanted to work out
