Reviews for The Driskill

Historic hotel, great experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The Driskill’s staff, location and historic vibe made for a great stay in Austin. We stayed in a historic king room with fascinating art throughout the surrounding corridors and walk through the mezzanine level was a trip back in time 100 years. Fitness facilities were excellent especially for an old hotel. Staff were very nice. We walked to Town Lake, West 6th and Texas University all within 15 minutes. I will definitely be staying here on my next trip to Austin!

Storm Shelter! Old Fashioned Style!

If you need an old fashioned and the perfect bar experience- go see Andrew. A great atmosphere in a fantastic hotel. Highly recommended. Bar food quick, plentiful and tasty..The Bar handled a storm surge of people with no issue. Love to go back to Austin

Nice but old

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Well maintained old historical hotel, definitely request the new remodeled side, not the historical side. Breakfast restaurant was super nice, however no pool or regular hotel amenities.

Lovely historic hotel

We loved staying in such a historic building. We loved the quirks and the location! We also really loved it as a wedding venue! Amazing use of spaces with character and authentic charm!

The old hotel looks outdated and smells like mold/dust

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel generally smells like dust and mold. The rooms were small and outdated. They also like to shampoo their carpets at midnight and are generally unfriendly.
