Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Austin

Such a shame

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I have stayed at Four Seasons Austin multiple times before this one and had a wonderful experience. I know how difficult it is to find quality staff in the service industry these days and that is why I am willing to pay a premium for it. This is the only difference in paying $500 a night and $2000 a night for the same purpose. I was shocked at how many different services were such a disappointment throughout my entire stay. Valet, room service, wait staff, food, spa and check out. One man at valet literally didn’t say a word with any interaction, I began to think he may be mute until I saw him speak to Marcus, the car service driver. Room service the first evening was terrible. No rice w kids steak, steak was charred and chewy when ordered medium well, no condiments, soup tasted like chemicals Lunch at Ciclo - Took 20 min to be greeted with only 3 other tables outside, Turkey sandwich ordered with no bacon had bacon, ordered sweet potato fries got reg fries. Jose was the nicest best server we had the entire stay. Live Oak - no napkins or plates with tuna nachos and queso order. Massage- Janet had a very off-putting attitude. After being told to let her know about pressure, I told her she could use more pressure after 10 min and her response was “I just started” with a kurt and short tone. I was told she didn’t want to stretch my legs because it would be awkward. She was very adversarial and defensive to requests. I was extremely uncomfortable. At check out, I asked to speak to someone about my concerns and no came after 20 min so ai asked for a card. Once returning home, I called and asked to speak to someone and was told I would get a call back. Never did. If I had been able to speak to someone constructively about the issues I had, I probably would’ve returned many times. This is obviously a problem from the top and see a very slim chance if any of any change. Such a shame because it is a great location; pretty much the only thing it has going for it anymore.

Very Disappointing Stay at FS Austin

Unfortunately, this was the worst Four Seasons experience I’ve had. I have stayed at Four Seasons hotels all over the world, and have always held them at such a high regard. I am very disappointed with the experience I had at this location in Austin. It wasn’t the 5 star experience I was expecting, and unfortunately I will be leaving early to move to another hotel for the remainder of my trip. Countless things were not aligned with the typical standard of the Four Seasons brand. From the size of the rooms being very small, to many of the staff not being very friendly. I booked a room that was advertised with a bath, and to my dismay I showed up and there was no bath. The room/bathroom that I did get was very small and very dated. When showering, the drain was clogged. Water filled the entire bottom of the shower. The cotton pads in the bathroom in plastic were also half open, it seems like housekeeping was not very diligent. There was no personalized note and chocolate in the room as there has been every single time I visited a four seasons, they brought that later that evening having forgotten. I got a $600 facial, that was advertised as 80 minutes but only actually lasted 65/70 minutes. I got food from room service twice that was very subpar, they got the order wrong once and neither times did I finish the food. I truly never write reviews, but I felt I needed to for this stay as it was incredibly disappointing and it has irreversibly tainted my impression of the four seasons brand. For a hotel booking of $10,000 for the week, I am deeply disappointed and feel this hotel should not be charging so much, and should not be presenting itself as part of the Four Seasons brand. If you are looking for a luxury hotel experience in Austin, try the Commodore Perry estate. It is slightly cheaper than this Four Seasons and 10x more luxury, more modern, and better service.

Four Seasons but five stars

Had a phenomenal stay this past weekend at the Four Seasons. The staff were friendly, customer service was top notch. Had some trouble with my room key but Erin with guest services to the rescue!! She took care of the situation and for my inconvenience, gave me a room with a view! Again, top notch customer service. See you all again soon Four Seasons! Jason A

Four Seasons Austin is one of my favorite Hotels in the United States. This property is beautiful and management is to notch from Valet to Hotel Services in all departments. I stay here about 30 days a year or more.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday and they made it extra special! Several people wished her happy birthday and there were balloons and treats waiting for us. The room was clean and comfortable and we slept well.
