About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

Reviews for Hotel Magdalena
Resort feeling on Congress Avenue.
Despite the relaxed vibe, the hotel is very well run, with a friendly and competent staff and lovely grounds. The restaurant is good with some healthy food options and it is very pleasant to sit outside among the plants and eat. Rooms aren't large and have minimal decoration, but they are comfortable. Opt for one of the "tree house" rooms with outdoor seating.

What a way to feel relaxed!
The comforter is really soft and the sheets are great. We had been to a funeral . I took a shower with the fluffy towels smelling great and climbed into a nice cozy bed. I love reading and read on my kindle feeling very relaxed after having a tough day.

Great hotel! Service, restaurant and design was all very very good. The landscaping is gorgeous. The rooms could use slightly better lighting, and a few more hooks in the bathroom but that is the only criticism. I would definitely recommend the hotel!

Wonderful hotel
The pictures don’t do this hotel justice. Beautiful facility in the heart of a very cool neighborhood off of South Congress. Shops and lots do within walking distance. Just 8 mins to the heart of downtown. EXCELLENT place to stay. The rooms are clean and functional. A bit minimalist but a very cool vibe. Important for Austin heat, the AC works very well and keeps you cool. The pool is shaded and kept on the colder side which I love. Overall, the vibes here are excellent. And the staff so attentive and kind.

Lovely short staycation with easiest location
We made a last minute booking for our wedding anniversary. Really cool interiors and beautiful landscaping. Comfortable rooms with lovely details, although road can be a little noisy in the morning. Great location right on Congress so easy to walk everywhere.
