The room was comfortable. Appreciate that the hotel is dog friendly and doesn’t charge an extra fee! Spent a day at the pool with our business friends and it was a great place to hang out. Wasn’t crowded and everyone there seemed welcoming. Our server Tristan was so attentive and kind. Give him a raise!

Great stay for a girls trip of mama entrepreneurs! Pool was lovely, rooms protected most of the street noise, servers were friendly and helpful, especially Tristan! Thanks for a fun few days! Ps I’m still thinking about that passion fruit tini at Arriba Abajo! YUM

While the hotel itself was outstanding, the management for the upstairs terrace bar and pool was horrible which ruined our R&R weekend. The pool is shared by an apartment complex and clearly allows anyone to access the pool which meant there weren't any chairs available for hotel guests. Bags, clothing, shoes and towels were laying in walking paths which are narrow to begin with so even looking for a chair was dangerous. The pool wait staff ignored empty cups and dirty plates throughout the area which was disgusting. Huge disappointment!

After months of searching for the perfect location to host a business retreat, I couldn’t be more thankful that I chose The Thompson Hotel in Austin. This place and staff exceeded every expectation! One of the most unique and helpful features is that it’s actually two hotels in one, connected by an elevator—giving you the flexibility to book rooms based on your team’s needs and budget. That made organizing our stay so much easier for a mixed group. When you check in, you receive guitar picks to trade in for complementary drinks at the bar on the 4th floor. The rooftop pool has the perfect view of the frost tower. We kicked things off by renting the Tee Box sports simulator room for a fun and casual business hour—it was the perfect blend of productivity and play. The next day, we reserved cabanas by the pool with drink service which made for a relaxing and social afternoon. Tristan and Ian made sure we were well cared for. And to top it all off, we had dinner onsite at the hotel restaurant after. Not having to leave the property was a huge perk after a full day of fun in the sun! Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the staff went above and beyond. If you’re planning a retreat, meeting, or even just a fun getaway—The Thompson is the spot. Stylish, smart, and stress-free!

We recently stayed at the Thompson Hotel for our daughter’s wedding. The property itself is gorgeous—modern, stylish, and well-located. Our upgraded suite was spacious and comfortable, perfect for our family during a special occasion. The front desk staff was warm and helpful when we arrived late due to a check-in delay, and they kindly offered a $100 Amex credit as a gesture. However, our experience was marred by significant billing issues. Despite the promised credit, it was never applied. On top of that, we were charged for a room service lunch from the day we hadn’t even checked in yet, as well as a breakfast that should have been covered. Thankfully, I requested a printed copy of the final bill—otherwise, we would have unknowingly paid over $300 in extra charges. While the front desk assured us corrections would be made, the revised bill still included incorrect charges, and I had to follow up again after checkout to get them resolved. It’s disappointing that during such a meaningful trip, we had to monitor our bill so closely. The hotel itself is lovely, but the lack of billing accuracy and follow-through left a sour note on an otherwise memorable stay.
