I had booked Thompson Austin via the Amex app and based on that my experience might differ from a regular booking experience. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with a free room upgrade, a breakfast voucher for my 2 mornings there as well as another voucher to cover various hotel fees like guest parking, minibar, restaurant etc. Obviously I was up for a great start. In my room I was welcomed with another sweet and kind treat, fresh fruit and macaroons. The overarching keyword that comes to my mind when I think of my stay at Thompson Austin is THOUGHTFUL! The shower alone was fabulous (because finally a hotel that allowed for a really hot showers with pressure) including dried Eucalyptus branches dangling from the overhead rain shower head. They even thought of facial masks for their guest. The mini bar area provided rather unexpected treats I let you discover for yourself 😄 … Enjoy! Great espresso machine and set up for your pick-me-up needs too. Everything was tastefully luxurious with just that special thoughtful touch. The gym was very well equipped and in pristine condition just like the rest of the hotel. I’ll gladly return for my next Austin trip.

Staff is very friendly, restaurants are amazing, esthetic is beautiful, location is great and very close to everything. only downside is the walls are a bit thin so you can here the people in the rooms next to you.

Excellent front desk service, restaurant food, and cleanliness of room. The American Express rewards program was exceptional. The overall experience was fantastic and look forward to staying again at this hotel soon!
