About the Hotel

Uma by COMO, Ubud, immerses you in the culture of Bali while, also, providing luxurious amenities. The result is a fresh, original spirit that feels sleek from the moment you explore the wider region, its temples, the landscapes and the artisan workshops...while being escorted by our English-speaking guides. Entirely residential in feeling, Uma Ubud has the atmosphere of a rural hillside home. Narrow paths are defined by tall, lushly planted walls leading between rooms and suites, each of which have their own tropical garden. Reviews for COMO Uma Ubud

Much more than 5 star experience

Como Uma is absolutely fabulous hotel, where we had an amazing unforgettable marvelous stay. We stayed for 10 days which can seem long but in the end time flied so fast and we did not get bored at all. What makes this hotel so special is its staff. We can find classy amenities in many places but very rarely you get to be welcomed by so cordial and polite personnel. A very special “thank you” to Silvi at front desk, Feby at Como Shambala Spa, restaurant staff, tour guides and every single person for making our holidays extraordinary. I can go on with compliments for a very long time. To make a long story short: if I happen to be in Bali again, I know where I will stay.

Wonderful Como!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Without a doubt, the staff make this hotel what it is. Every single person we met was polite, friendly and keen to make sure you were having a wonderful time. They provide some of the best service we have ever experienced. The food was exceptional too. I was nervous about Bali Belly, and whilst everyone raves about the restaurants in Ubud, I felt more comfortable eating at the hotel restaurants and enjoyed a range of meals over the 5 days we stayed. Again, the restaurant staff were wonderful and so attentive. Our family enjoyed using the gym which is brand new and well equipped, and the spa was heaven! We have never experienced treatments as good as these and the ladies in the spa were so welcoming. If we had one quibble, which we know isn’t the hotels fault, is that the rooms felt and smelt quite damp. There had been lots of rain during our stay so perhaps everything dries a bit once the sun appears. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Como as a tranquil oasis amid the chaos of Ubud! Thank you for a fabulous stay and the wonderful staff will forever remain in our hearts.

The best hotel and service ever!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Ok, where to start? We stayed in Como Uma for our first destination in Indonesia, during our honeymoon trip. We have never experienced such a luxury, chill, top level service and experience. The breakfast experience is probably one of the best meals we ever had, and the day would not begin without it. The staff is friendly and super careful. My wife is lactose intolerant, we let them aware during check-in and from that point on all of the staff in the hotel would proactively remind us that the food was properly prepared. We received consecutive treats for our honeymoon and included a belated birthday celebration for my wife. We hired a one day tour to the temples with our guida Eva and he went beyond, became our private photographer and good friend, telling stories and sharing experiences. Unfortunately it rained a lot during the day, Eva was sacrificing himself to guarantee our confort. He also stopped in the local market to buy "ingredients" so we could prepare our personal offering and guided the prayers and chants for our thanks. He also guided me on my water purification ritual which was just so special, something I'll never forget. Other than that, the facilities of the hotel are luxurious and very relaxing, rooms, pool, bar and restaurant. We did not love the food from the Uma Cucina restaurant, but all the others were phenomenal. We just ended our stay there hoping to go back in our 5th anniversary. Thank you Como Uma 🙏

Escape the hubbub of Ubud town (only minutes away) in this tranquil oasis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A tranquil oasis to enjoy and relax in after the madness of Ubud town. The beautifully designed rooms we were in had a lovely terrace and garden with lush views across the tropical jungle. The pool was very inviting especially after a day in town (free shuttle every 2 hours) hunting for Artisan jewellery, Balinese table sets (looking like the White Company ones), yoga wear and clothing bargains in general. The service was always quick, very courteous and extremely helpful. The breakfast is a definite highlight with a great selection of Balinese and Western options- simply delicious and done is a style of plenty but without being wasteful. Stunning coffee - crafted to perfection! We also enjoyed the gym here (best of our trip yet) - it’s brand new with LifeFitness equipment and a good selection of free weights. It’s so large that you can get down to many consecutive burpee broad jumps (if you must 😂). In all it’s a great place to stay with yummy food, a lovely pool, fab gym, attentive service and best of all away from the nearby hubbub of Ubud town.

We loved our stay here.

We loved our stay here. The service was top flight. The staff was genuinely friendly and very well trained. The food was delicious—we ate at both on-site restaurants (one is Italian), as well as at the bar by the pool. We stayed in THE Uma Pool Villa. A gorgeous valley view with a private infinity pool and outdoor shower, also a very nice bedroom and bathroom with a freestanding tub and another outdoor shower (but enclosed, so there is privacy). Comfort and luxury. Room hint: There are at least two types of these villas. You’ll have to study the site, or pay attention when booking. Note that you will get a workout staying here as there are steep stairs in various parts of the property. Some rooms require many more steps than others. We stayed at the bottom of a very steep hill, and it was an 84-step (we counted) climb or descent to our uber-nice room. We found that it was worth it! The room service was great. We enjoyed breakfast, dinner, and multiple deliveries of champagne to the room. Bar was great, with a nice selection of cocktails and alcohols. Great excursions, and dinner shows (make sure to do the dinner that has the Balinese dancing show). Breakfast buffet was top shelf, with various hot items you can order (we recommend the nasi goreng), and we really appreciated their attention to food allergies and issues—it was very easy to get non-dairy milk and gluten-free items (the coconut yogurt and coconut sorbet were excellent). It was also really nice that, outside each room/villa, the resort has flowers and sticks of incense placed there every day. We were really sold on the place by The Flip Flop Traveler, and I’d refer you to his video about the place. While we loved the resort, we only found Ubud to be just “ok.” It was a long drive from the airport and not as developed as we expected. Note that it is not easy to walk around Ubud—the sidewalks are broken and narrow, and you really need to get a ride into the town area instead of walking (Como has a car that can take you and pick you up). There was also a truly surprising amount of traffic in Ubud and on the way to/from Ubud, at all hours (including at 4 a.m.!) Como saved our trip to Bali! We hope to return to a Como resort, but if we were to go to Bali again, we would stay at one of their beach resorts (even though we aren’t “beach people”). Unless you really know that you want to stay in Ubud, I’d also recommend that you stay near the more-developed beach area.
