Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve

This hotel is the best hotel I have ever visited anywhere in the World. From the moment we arrived it was clear that this place is in a league of its own. The staff went far beyond anything I have ever experienced. Every interaction was warm, genuine & thoughtful. Parmini our Butler was amazing with going above and beyond in ways that felt effortless and heartfelt. Also Ryo just went above and beyond for us and I will never forget all his done for us during our stay. Krishna from Ambar Ubud Bar was amazing. The atmosphere of this hotel is exceptional, an experience we will remember forever. If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate. This hotel doesn’t just meet expectations it redefines them. Can’t wait to return.

The Mandapa is a truly special property. We have stayed here for 1 night only as this was the last night of our trip to Bali so we wanted to finish it with something truly special. The Mandapa did live up to expectations and exceeded it. It was myself, fiancé and 4 year old son visiting. Due to my Marriott Titanium status, they even upgraded us (it was off season). The room was enormous and everything was just perfect. It would take me too long to describe every detail of this property but to summarise it all; the food, the rooms, the upkeep of the development, the interactions with staff, everything was perfect! I have stayed in Four Seasons, many other Ritz Carlton’s, St. Regis etc. this is the best I’ve stayed in, anywhere. One thing my fiancé said was “you have to stop taking me to these Honeymoon like places”. It truly was! The kids club was amazing with animals, loads of activities and amazing staff. This was a very expensive property compared to every other property in Bali, but it was worth every penny and more. I can’t wait to go back one day and stay longer as you need a few nights stay to fully appreciate all the property has to offer!

We wish there was a score higher than 5. Our only criticism is of ourselves for not staying longer. We booked a corner suite kind and because of our Chase status were upgraded to a "Villa". The room was nothing short of spectacular with a very private lap pool, large cabana with TV and amenities and a guest room that was arguably one of the most spectacular we have ever stayed in. The staff was beyond helpful and kind (and recognized my wife's birthday both at breakfast and dinner!). Our "butler" Anissa fullfilled every request we made and Dwi, the hotel's local guide, took us on a wonderful 1/2 day tour. We booked the two night stay ahead of a cruise and honestly wish we have come in a day earlier to enjoy all the property has to offer. The staff was committed to weaving the local culture and heritage into the activities and meals and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed every minute.

The perfect luxury jungle resort. The Mandapa is definitely not an ordinary Marriott property. I was looking to immerse myself in Ubud’s natural beauty and this magical place totally delivered. Every moment felt like a ritual from the arrival to departure. In between, staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time. I couldn’t thank the entire team enough for their personalized attention and care. I participated in the resorts disconnect to reconnect wellness aquatic exercise activity. It was an amazing moment both physically and spiritually. The instructor, the views from the heated Jacuzzi, the exercise, the nature and all elements just made the session so complete and restorative. The River Front Villa which I was so fortunate to stay in was so comfortable, beautiful, and private. The design is perfect and blended in very well with the resorts overall aesthetic and position in Ubud. I was impressed by the bathroom amenities with outdoor shower, Japanese toilet, and great soundproofing. I could not hear the river stream while sleeping. Dining is a big affair at Mandapa. The breakfast buffet at their terrace restaurant was abundant in quality and choices. I loved the pastries and most importantly the panoramic view from the restaurant. Their fine dining restaurant Kubu is also excellent which I shall write a separate review on its 10 course discovery menu. The Ambar Bar also provided mesmerizing sunset drinks with gorgeous views and ambiance. I highly recommend Mandapa to all seeking a luxurious escape in mystique Ubud, Bali. It’s simply extraordinary and words cannot describe how special and transformative my experience was. Thank you again to the entire team. I look forward to returning.

This was my second stay at Mandapa. Very happy on the first time and no change with the second. Our patih (or butler) Ms. Niti was great. She mana to arrange all our activities during our stay seamlessly. We also have the opportunity to have a dinner at Kubu. It was great! Special thanks to Chef Eka and his team. Definitely worth to return.
