Our stay at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve was truly incredible and far beyond expectations. From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel like we belonged there — they remembered us, greeted us by name, and took care of every detail with genuine warmth. The butler service was absolutely amazing, and our butler Thania was honestly one step ahead of a genie. She understood our food choices, meal timings, and even our sparkling water preference, and everything was arranged like magic without us having to repeat anything. We stayed for 2 days, but it felt too short because the vibe of Mandapa is nothing less than heaven. The River View One Bedroom Villa was pure bliss — it reflected what a peaceful, luxurious life truly feels like. Mandapa’s people really know how to touch hearts and create lasting memories. They are simply outstanding.

Mandapa is one of the most extraordinary places I have ever stayed, and it becomes clear within minutes that this is a resort operating on a completely different level. From the moment you arrive, the service is not just attentive but deeply thoughtful in a way that feels almost intuitive. Every interaction is warm, unhurried, and sincere, never scripted or transactional. Your butler feels less like hotel staff and more like a quiet guardian of your stay, handling everything seamlessly before you even realize you need it, whether it’s adjusting plans, remembering small preferences, or simply appearing at exactly the right moment with the right thing. What struck me most is that this level of care is consistent across everyone on the property, from the front desk to the restaurant teams to the spa therapists. Every single person smiles, makes eye contact, and treats you with a humility and kindness that feels genuine and deeply rooted in who they are, not something trained into them. It creates an atmosphere where you truly feel cared for, not just accommodated. The room itself deserves special mention, as it is without question the best room I have ever stayed in at any hotel anywhere in the world. The space is enormous, beautifully designed, and perfectly balanced between comfort and elegance, with a sense of privacy and calm that makes it feel more like a private home than a hotel room. I have stayed in countless suites at the most prestigious five star resorts globally, and this room surpasses all of them in both size and feeling. I have traveled extensively around the world and almost exclusively stay at five star resorts, from the most iconic properties in Europe to ultra luxury destinations in Asia and the Middle East, and Mandapa is without question either the number one or number two resort experience I have ever had. What makes that even more impressive is that the service here surpasses what I’ve experienced at places known globally for hospitality excellence. The setting is breathtaking, the food is Michelin level across the property, the spa by the river is profoundly restorative, and the grounds are impeccably maintained, but it is the service that elevates Mandapa into a category of its own. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Sagiasih and Diah for their warmth and extraordinary hospitality at Armbar - one of the extraordinary restaurants on property, to Eka for her incredible bar skills and unforgettable drinks, and especially to Sugi, my incredible butler, who made every single day effortless and meaningful. There are so many names I want to thank, and I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to all of them, one I hope they can forgive me for not fully expressing in the moment, because there was not a single day or interaction where they did not know my name, my preferences, or how to make me feel at home. I left Mandapa with peace in my soul and a genuine sense of astonishment at what service, kindness, and a truly ultra five star experience can be when it is done at the very highest level.

We had a great experience in the jungle and it was definitely unforgettable. Service was top notch and the staff were very attentive. Especially thanks to Tira who was our butler! She really made our stay feel very exclusive and added to the overall experience. Couldn’t recommend enough.

We returned to Mandapa for a second visit over festive season and had another terrific experience! The resort is a true oasis, offering a relaxing, warm environment with spacious, well-kept rooms and facilities. Every team member tries to their best to give a five-star experience within the spiritually wholesome surroundings, going out of their way to accommodate even unusual requests. Even on rare occasions when something isn’t perfect to a highly discerning eye, they go above and beyond to address concerns. For the second time in a row, our butler Tapsir in particular, delivered consistent, daily excellence! He remained extremely attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay, accommodating daily flexibility with our planning and handling several highly unusual requests such as procuring custom artwork, organizing a temple fire blessing, etc. He delivered all of this with a genuine smile! He and many team members embodied the calm, peaceful spirit that is Ubud.
