Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Truly inspiring experience in Bangkok

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

It was my first-ever trip to Thailand, although Bangkok had long been on my bucket list of places to visit. I first heard about the city back in the 1990s when, as a child, I watched the TV drama Bangkok Hilton starring Nicole Kidman. Since then, Bangkok remained in my imagination, and during this trip, I was especially drawn to the Chao Phraya River — the one image that had stayed with me from that show and which I was eager to finally see with my own eyes. What I didn’t expect was to experience Thai hospitality in such a remarkable way — the way Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River delivers it. It’s truly heartfelt and embracing, from the very first welcome to the final handshake before your car departs for the airport and the plane carries you back to Dubai. My stay at Four Seasons Bangkok was brief — just two nights — but the moments they created and the emotions they sparked will stay with me forever. The check-in experience was incredibly warm and genuinely welcoming, setting the perfect tone for the stay ahead. From the very first greeting, the team made me feel not like a guest, but like someone truly expected. Every detail was handled with grace and attentiveness, making the arrival process seamless and personal. It was the kind of welcome that instantly puts you at ease and makes you feel at home, even in a completely new place. I was genuinely touched by the thoughtful welcome amenities awaiting me in the room — a beautifully curated selection that reflected both creativity and care. What made it truly special was the personalized touch: a photo of me printed on a plate, which instantly created a sense of warmth and connection. It was an unexpected surprise that felt deeply personal. A small gesture, yet one that spoke volumes about the attention to detail and truly guest-centric philosophy of the Four Seasons team. One of the highlights of my stay was dinner at Yu Ting Yuan, the hotel’s signature Cantonese restaurant. The setting was exquisite — a serene, artfully designed space overlooking the reflective lotus pond, which added a touch of magic to the evening. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, from the rich, aromatic soup to the tender chicken and perfectly seasoned fried rice, all served with quiet elegance. The service was impeccable, with each course presented with knowledge and grace, making the entire experience feel both intimate and unforgettable. Mornings at Four Seasons began with a truly exceptional breakfast buffet — a perfect blend of variety, freshness, and elegance. From tropical fruits and freshly baked pastries to made-to-order eggs and Asian specialties, every item was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The atmosphere was calm yet vibrant, with attentive service and river views that made each morning feel like a moment of quiet indulgence. An evening at BKK Social Club was the perfect way to unwind — the ambiance was effortlessly chic, with a glamorous nod to the golden age of Buenos Aires. The cocktails were expertly crafted, each one a unique blend of bold flavors and artistic presentation. With its stylish crowd, warm lighting, and impeccable service, the bar felt like a destination in itself within the heart of the hotel. Bangkok itself was an exhilarating mix of contrasts — vibrant street life set against serene temples, and centuries-old tradition flowing seamlessly into modern luxury. The energy of the city is infectious, from the lively markets to the calm boat rides along the Chao Phraya River. It’s a place that surprises you at every turn, leaving you inspired, intrigued, and already planning your return. Special thanks to Killian Crowley, Director of Guest Experience; Christina Purba, Hotel Manager; and Lubosh Barta, Regional Vice President and General Manager — your personal attention and leadership truly elevated the experience and made this stay unforgettable. What truly impressed me was that there was no need to ask or remind — the team anticipated every need and acted on it within seconds… quite literally. It’s the kind of intuitive service that feels effortless yet leaves a lasting impression.

Stunning Modern Hotel with an interesting bathroom.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We loved every moment of our stay at the Four Seasons Bangkok. I booked through my Amex Platinum card, and our rate came with a room upgrade, buffet breakfast & $100 credit to be used at the hotel. The property was beautiful, the rooms were luxurious, Byredo products, and the breakfast buffet was stunning. We arrived late on our first night and went to their French restaurant, Palmier, for dinner. The oysters and Champagne were a nice way to start our stay. We went to their bar, BKK Social, three times and loved the bartenders and their creative cocktails. We spent a few days at the pool, having lunch and drinks poolside. The only thing I didn't care for was the bathroom set-up. The bathroom is essentially a pod with wrap-around doors. The double sinks, bathtub, shower, and toilet are all visible when you enter and are in the room. The toilet has a glass door, so there is absolutely no privacy. You have to shut the entire pod with sliding doors to have privacy.... or at least I do. I didn't feel comfortable going to the "bathroom" when my boyfriend was relaxing in the room, as he could see and hear what was going on. This may not bother some people, but it's of note. It wouldn't stop me from returning, but some ladies might be interested in this small detail.

Modern luxury on the river

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Four Seasons Bangkok is absolutely stunning. The setting along the Chao Phraya River is spectacular and gives the entire property a serene, resort-like feel, despite being right in the heart of the city. The pool area in particular is a highlight, beautifully designed, expansive, and directly overlooking the river, it truly feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Service throughout our stay was excellent, warm, polished, and attentive in true Four Seasons fashion. The rooms are massive, sleek, and extremely comfortable, though they lean heavily into modern design. If you’re looking for traditional Thai touches or decor, this property might not be your ideal fit, it’s very contemporary and cosmopolitan. That said, everything is thoughtfully done, from the art-filled public spaces to the elegant dining options. While it may not have the classic Thai ambiance some travelers seek, it more than makes up for it with impeccable service, world-class facilities, and one of the most impressive urban resort settings we’ve experienced. Highly recommended.

FOUR SEASONS BANGKOK- THIS IS THE ONLY LUXURY HOTEL YOU WANT TO STAY IN!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Located on the Chao Phraya River. It is truly Magnificent! It is the best Four Seasons city hotel we have ever stayed in. The accommodations are gorgeous, the service is impeccable, and the restaurants décor is stunning. The flowers and water features throughout the hotel are gorgeous. There is a central courtyard evoking the rice fields of Thailand. It is a riverside sanctuary in the wonderful city of Bangkok. Before my arrival I communicated with the fabulous concierge staff who replied quickly and in great detail to book restaurants and tours. They offer very reasonable tours of Bangkok. We loved the The Grand Temple Tour that included The Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha, Reclining Buddha, Temple of Dawn and we added a stop to the flower market which was so interesting. The company they use has the most luxurious vans we have ever seen. We also enjoyed the 2 hour longboat tour along the Chao Phraya River to the neighborhood of Thonburi to admire its traditional teak houses built on stilts and watch the locals go about their lives before stopping at Wat Arun for unique views of Bangkok. We had a leisurely breakfast every morning on the river. There is a delicious buffet and also you can order a la carte. My husband said it was the best croissants he very tasted. Their pastry chef is very talented. We stayed in a Four Seasons Executive Suite with breathtaking views on the river. The furnishings, bathroom, linens and bedding are all of the highest quality. The suite was stunning! Housekeeping staff was fantastic. They cleaned our suite to perfection 2x a day. Thank you for your wonderful service. We are so appreciative. It would be worth your while to spend an extra day at the hotel just to go to their fabulous Spa. We booked 3.5 hours of treatments called “ Local Tradition” in their VIP suite -that included foot ritual, scrub, mask, head massage and wrap followed by time in a Jacuzzi to rinse off and concluded with a Herbal Massage and Signature Thai Facial. It was absolutely fabulous and the best spa experience we have ever had in any spa all over the world. It was surely a highlight! Be sure to book in advance as the Spa is very popular. All the dining venues at the hotel have excellent food and the decor is gorgeous. We ate at the hotel Italian Restaurant, the Chinese Restaurant, Thai Restaurant and Lobby Lounge (for the best Wagu Cheeseburger you will ever have!- The burger is also available at the pools.) We ate at the Italian Restaurant a few times during our 7 nights and adored the Manager Sofia. She was so attentive to us. Don’t miss the BKK Social Club for delicious drinks and snacks. It was rated one of the top bars in the world. There is a complimentary hotel water taxi stand right on the property and be sure to go the fantastic ICONSIAM mall and have lunch at the wonderful food court. Pools and loungers on river are wonderful with great service by the pool attendants. We had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager- Lubosh. A hotel as fabulous as the Four Seasons Bangkok does not happen without his leadership and his commitment to excellence is obvious throughout the hotel. He is so engaging, charming and always present and we loved talking with him. Thank you Lubosh for making our stay so special and being so amazing and to us! We also enjoyed talking with Betty- Director of Marketing. She is a pure delight! There is a reason the Four Seasons Bangkok has received so many hospitality awards including two Michelin keys as one of the first hotels in Thailand to receive this prestigious recognition. The Michelin keys celebrate hotels that excel in five areas: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and their significant contribution to the guest experience. This acknowledgement underscores the commitment of Four Seasons Bangkok to delivering unparalleled luxury and exceptional service. Also it was named to World’s Best Hotels, and awards from hospitality magazines including Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast and Departures naming it one of the most astounding Hotel Openings in the World. Staying at the Four Seasons Bangkok is not just a hotel. It was a wonderful experience! We can’t wait to come back! Also Bangkok is now rated as one of the best cities to visit in the world. I want to thank the staff that made our stay so special: Concierges: Korn, Mr. Big, Peter and Pump – all of you were the BEST! You can easily communicate with them at the hotel on the Four Seasons App. Reception: Eve, and Yayee Brought us to our Suite: Tawan and explained everything in detail. Engineer: Max – who hooked up my husband’s computer. Chao Phaya Terrace- Thai Restaurant on the River- Waiters: Pong and Koi Yu Ting Yuan: Chinese Restaurant: Celeste/Manager, “A” and Lolita/Servers, Kwang/Hostess Riva Del Fiume: Italian Restaurant: Mim/Waitress and Sofia/Manager. Great Stay by the River

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

It’s a Four Seasons-can’t go wrong! My first stay here and I’m already planning the next one in Kuala Lumpur. The staff, food, location, and comfort all exceeded expectations. Loved the riverside views, stylish design, and peaceful vibe. The spa was amazing, and the pool area felt like a private oasis. Great spot for both relaxing and exploring the city.
