Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok

The moment we arrived Eric greeted us and immediately made us feel welcome. He took the time to walk us through all the hotel benefits and even personally escorted us to our room, explaining every detail to make sure our stay was perfect. You can tell he genuinely cares, I almost felt bad knowing he puts that much time into every guest, but it really elevates the experience. I also appreciated the diversity of the staff, Eric is from Korea, and it’s great to see Kimpton reflect the diversity of its guests. Beautiful property, friendly team, and we’ll definitely be back.

the hotel is getting a bit worn down as well. not in the sense of the space or furnitures but the ventilation is having a bad odor all the rooms. and the pillows are not comfortable nor is the bedding - i didn’t have a good nights rest here we used to adore it we’ve been staying here for the past years. I believe they mentioned we have been visiting them 18 times now with each stay always 2+ nights and some even +5 nights. So in total I think we spent roughly 40+ nights with them in total which is sadly not something we notice. We are not offered to check in earlier or later and they have poor communication so every request gets dragged out into us solving it on our own or having to remind them. considering the price is +350 usd a night which is far above the median price, we’d love a bit more care. we’re showing so much loyalty towards kimpton by rebooking but the care is not reciprocated. i don’t know maybe we’re expecting too much. sometimes a nice gesture would even be enough.

Beautiful facility, great location in Bangkok, staff is very attentive without being overbearing, the concierge staff is phenomenal. Our room was exceptional - clean, spacious, well lite. The breakfast buffet is exceptional.

Great hotel, so happy I didnt go for Mandarin oriental. If im in Bangkok I would def stay at Kimpton.
