Wish we had stayed much longer. Wonderful, classic hotel. Staff all fantastic - front desk, pool, boat, breakfast, bar and housekeeping. Varied complementary daily activities many of which we would have got involved with if we had stayed longer. Stunning pool which was very quiet first thing in the morning - perfect! Traditionally decorated room facing the river and skyline was large and well equipped. It was my husband’s birthday the day we arrived and they’d left a lovely card, cake and fruit in our room which was much appreciated. Huge variety of quality products at breakfast. The hotel’s complementary boat service takes you to the shopping centre and across the water to the main boat station which was perfect for picking up the hop-on hop-off tourist boat. We loved Bangkok and this hotel and will be back for a longer stay next time.

We had a wonderful stay at The Peninsula Bangkok. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless and welcoming. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, combining elegance with comfort. Our room had a stunning view of the river and skyline, which made every morning and evening feel special. The location couldn’t be better — close to malls, great spas, and right on the river, making it easy to explore the city. Breakfast was another highlight: a wide variety of delicious options, all served with the warm hospitality that the Peninsula is known for. What stood out most was the service. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, and the attention to detail was evident in everything they did. My husband and I left feeling truly pampered.

Overall: I would vote it a 7/10 or a 3/5. The location was good, the staff and the restaurants were superb, and, quite frankly, elevate the rating beyond the bare bones of the hotel. Other then the communal areas, the hotel is tired and for the price, one expects better. The staff save the day in my opinion. Room: The room was ok, but in need of refurbishment. Although the style can remain traditional, the TV in the bath, while in my view, unnecessary, if it is installed, it needs to work and not be a cathode tube version which cannot screen any modern TV. The superior room with balcony was a nice touch, but the glass on the balustrade was so dirty it spoiled the view and rendered sitting on the balcony less pleasant. Again, minor details, but for the cost, I would say these are hygiene factors. Cleanliness and housekeeping were excellent and very attentive to personal preferences. Environmental considerations: I did not see a concerted effort or nod to environmental considerations. While it was good to see metal encased bathroom products, hence recyclable, there was still a lot of plastic which is not great in this day and age. The lawn was kept so very short that it was both relatively unattractive due to lack of rain and unnecessary. The air-conditioning was brutally high in the public areas. Amenities: I did not use the pool but it looked very nice, clean and well designed with plenty of secluded corners for privacy. The public areas were very well kept, the orchids populating the place with their respective description, was a lovely touch. The lobby and bar with live music was very pleasant. Restaurants: Utterly superb. Nothing more can be said. The Thai restaurant was out of this world, while also accommodating those of us who can't brave the fierce heat of the local cuisine. The flavours were fresh, distinct and truly authentic. The Chinese restaurant was equally brilliant. The dim sum tasting menu was perfectly guaged in quantity to provide a superb selection while not overfilling one to the death. Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and stomach... if only one had enough space. The only flaw in the ointment was the coffee which was almost undrinkable (but then I am Italian, so have fairly high standards). I recommend bringing extra digestive systems to sample all the food! Boat service: Superb, it brings you to the connecting boat service and to the Icon mall. A nice touch would be if it ran a shuttle to the Grand Palace, however probably best to push tourists to contribute to the local economy. Tours and options: I would have liked to see amongst the options provided by concierge, a tour of craftsmanship with carvings, silk and local manufacturing, and equally some river boat options. Most of the tour options are only available at weekends so, as we stayed midweek, our choice was severely limited sadly. We hired a private guide for half a day and she was utterly brilliant and could not recommend her enough... sadly, I did not catch her name. Staff: The staff, excepting an outlier, was brilliant and could not do enough for you. All were fabulous, welcoming, attentive, kind and professional. Location: On the river, superb place but will need transport to get to the main sites and the taxi drivers are tricky as won't give change and they disregard the meter and ask for more, so it's an argument. I would recommend the boat which is more clear cut.

n July we enjoyed our 4th stay in this gorgeous urban oasis. All of the staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we felt welcomed and cared for. The staff’s focus is definitely on the guest’s experience - several of the staff remembered us from previous stays and recalled our preferences when spending our mornings poolside or having meals in the Riverfront Terrace Restaurant. The buffet breakfast is the best in Bangkok. A special shout out to Alex, the front office manager. I made a mistake with the booking of my room category through Agoda. Alex made the adjustment - a complimentary upgrade; and personally escorted us up to the room to ensure everything was to our liking. Thank you, Alex! Oh, and I cannot forget Wanchai at the pool ~ this friendly gentleman took extra good care of us. While there are many choices for luxury accommodations in Bangkok, the Peninsula is definitely a favorite. We will return again soon!
