The Peninsula Bangkok

n July we enjoyed our 4th stay in this gorgeous urban oasis. All of the staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we felt welcomed and cared for. The staff’s focus is definitely on the guest’s experience - several of the staff remembered us from previous stays and recalled our preferences when spending our mornings poolside or having meals in the Riverfront Terrace Restaurant. The buffet breakfast is the best in Bangkok. A special shout out to Alex, the front office manager. I made a mistake with the booking of my room category through Agoda. Alex made the adjustment - a complimentary upgrade; and personally escorted us up to the room to ensure everything was to our liking. Thank you, Alex! Oh, and I cannot forget Wanchai at the pool ~ this friendly gentleman took extra good care of us. While there are many choices for luxury accommodations in Bangkok, the Peninsula is definitely a favorite. We will return again soon!

Before the Peninsula Bankok was a very good 5 star hotel with excellent service, Now a 3 1/2 star with buses of middle class Chinese tourist not very polite. We ordered a BMW for our 6 luggages to pick us at the airport.,like before. This time we have been asked 3 times in not very nice terms to pay it in advance. A year ago it was, like in all palace, put in our bill with no pre- payment. At the St Moritz Palace hotel we can order the Rolls Royce at the Samedan Airport without paying it in advance. Also the worst was the registration: 15 minutes wait with unprofessional ladies that took again 10 minutes to register. In a real 4 star hotel in Ko Samui it tooks 3 minutes (automization). Last time a year bago,at the Peninsula, we registered in the room with a charming staff doing the job in3 minutes on a tavlet . Also after this long time lost it took 10 minutes to get our luggage. This hotel is going down, then ice French FB manager quitted, I understand why.. The only thing that went up are the prices. So sad as we had before a wonderful experience . Of you want to be on the Chao Paya river in class go on the other side on a hotel starting with M. .. We are still waiting the apologies of the general manager, who did not respond to our written complaint

Always one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. In fact, we stayed twice..going back at the end of our Thailand trip instead of the four seasons. Were there hiccups, yes…but the team there went above and beyond to look out and really take care of us. They made a trip about our anniversary and some personal health milestones special. I will always be grateful.

Just stayed with Peninsula Bangkok for 4 nights. Very satisfied. The staff including the ferry staff are friendly. The room is a bit old but is well maintained, and the service meets international standards. The breakfast especially the fruits are top quality. Close to the shopping mall Icon Siam and convenient to ge tthere with the hotel’s ferry.

Just completed a three night stay at The Peninsula Bangkok. This hotel lobby and grounds are lovely but the guest rooms are tired and are in serious need of a refresh/ remodel. The hotel has a definate must and mildew odor and this was especially obvious and the 26 floor corridor and the two rooms that I had booked on the floor. I noticed dehumidifiers in the hallway, so this is an obvious concern for the hotel. Interior room furniture were seriously dated. I’m sure they were beautiful 20 years ago, but they are not at keeping with a five star hotel. Additionally, it’s probably the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. This was the case with both rooms we had booked. Mattresses were hard a rock: thought we did appreciate the nice down pillows and comforters but ultimately they couldn’t make up for the poor quality sleep on those beds.
