The Sukhothai Bangkok

Sukhothai is one of my "go to" hotels in Bangkok. It's a true urban oasis - very private and quiet and you don't feel you are in a busy city. I have peresonally stayed here more than 5 times in the past 2 years. The location might not be ideal if you are visiting Bangkok for the first time as you need a taxi to visit most of the sites/malls. However if you can avoid rush hours it won't be a major problem. I stayed at both the main wing and the club wing. Personally I would say the rooms and atmosphere in the main wing are more Thai and it reflects the spirits of the hotel. Rooms in the clubs wing are, however, more modern and spacious. The pool is the highlight of the hotel. I would rank it as the best pool in Bangkok, or in any city hotels. The Spa complex is also stunning. Service at the club is always consistent and of high standard. Gift, who was super attentive and friendly, is like our best friend in Bangkok.

Sukhothai is a most beautiful oasis amongst the bustle of Bangkok, and stands out from other city hotels due to its modest scaled buildings, beautiful gardens, appropriate Thai Architecture, and grand public spaces. The pool area is a particular novelty in Bangkok as it is on ground level, spacious and attracts sun most of the day. I stayed in an Executive Suite which was a huge beautifully designed space with everything you could need. Sukhothai embraced a wonderful Christmas spirit without being overkill. However, what impressed me most about the hotel was the quality of management response I noticed following a few niggles which I brought to their attention. Trippy, as one of the most senior managers in the hotel demonstrated the most professional approach I have seen in any manager in any hotel worldwide. It is so wonderful when you see a manger who truly loves and is proud of her hotel, and wants to train her staff to do the best for her guests. I am not sure when she slept, she was always working, from sorting out the Executive Lounge to running the hotel generally, she still found time to talk to guests and make everyone feel,personally welcome. Thank you for making my Christmas very special as a solo traveller.

If you are looking for a hotel in Bangkok that is serene, 5 stars, attentive and an oasis in the city then The Sukhothai is your hotel. The staff, the pool, the rooms and the breakfast are stand outs

I’ve been wanting to go the Sukhothai chocolate buffet for ages and finally made it - and I was not disappointed! A scrumptious combination of savory and sweet delights, all served in a beautiful venue with live music. And the service was impeccable - Am, Nong, and Boom were so attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Just a delightful and delicious afternoon!
