Hotel Gran Derby Suite

Highly recommended hotel! This hotel is great value for money and very centrally located. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very service-oriented. Everything was spotlessly clean and the hotel has a modern interior. The rooms are fully equipped with all comforts, including bathrobes, slippers and a coffee machine. The beds are extremely comfortable, which made our stay even better. We would definitely stay here again.

First of course was the service at the front desk. Ali, Abril, and Laura were absolutely amazing. They are multi-lingual, which is such a help. They know about the train, tours, metro, places to eat, and general knowledge of places to go and see. The hotel is small but the rooms are very nice and modern. It is immaculatly clean. There is a pool that will be great for the summer months. Housekeeping was great as well, very responsive and helpful. Our breakfast was included, that was a nice surprise to me because I didn't know that and it was just right. There is room service, I think, until 7pm. The hotel location was close enough to the main street to walk and the metro (subway) as well. Cabs are easily available across the street, or the front desk can order you one. All in all, this was a very pleasant

Did a short stay in this small boutique and design hotel before a cruise out of Barcelona and was not disappointed. Large, clean and comfortable room. Excellent bath room. Friendly and professional staff all over. Central location with a very good restaurant with decent pricing next door as a plus. I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Barcelona.

This is a small hotel that is trying to be a combo of boutique and luxury, and frankly it fails at both. On it's face it was a very clean, chic property, that looked impressive but that's where it ended. The front desk staff were cordial but often appeared disinterested when they croaked out the obligatory "bon dia" or "hola." The room was large by city standards, which was a plus, but it was incredibly dark (even with all of the lights on) and hot and it felt like being in a cave. The bathroom was large and clean with a double sink, but there were no washcloths. The bed was small for a double/queen, and very low to the ground. The nightstands were hunks of wood. Maybe esthetically pleasing but useless. There was a minibar, but a refrigerator would've been more useful. The window faced a small courtyard which was more like a glorified elevator shaft. If you were on a higher floor maybe you saw sunlight, but on the 1st floor it remained dark. Our only view was directly into the room on the other side. The bathroom and closet doors were sliders like barn doors and as a result we heard the doors open and close in the room above us at all hours. The AC was turned off in the building for the "winter" (it was 65-70 degrees out, what winter?) and there was zero airflow from the window. Miserable. Even with the tower fan that they gave us, sleep was elusive. The neighborhood was fine but if you want to use the metro you have quite a walk ahead of you. I was very disappointed in this hotel, though ymmv.

The room looked quite dated and the furniture within had obviously seen better days. Checkin was fine and an upgrade was provided as a Hilton member. The breakfast area was quite small, located in the basement with a small selection of options. There was an annoying intermittent noise in the room through the night and not having the energy to go to the front desk and potentially further ruin the night’s not so smooth sleep, I didn’t bother with reception. My only other interaction with reception was when checking out and two members of staff were taking a lengthy time to somehow deal with a difference in the charges to a guests card compared to the initial quoted price. Reasonable good location as good for public transport, but so are many other hotels in Barcelona. I probably won’t return here
