I would like to share my disappointment with this hotel. I have never experienced such awful service in a 5 star hotel before. The front of house manager was so rude to our friends and spoke down to them like he was someone special. Also, two friends suffered humiliation when using the gender neutral toilets, when a man opened their toilet door whilst they were in there as the locks were not working, unbeknown to them.

I would like to raise a concern regarding the conduct of your Front of House Manager on 1st May, which I found to be highly unprofessional. Upon arriving at the hotel for a reservation at the rooftop bar, we approached the lifts. One lift door opened and was going down; the guests inside politely informed us, and the doors closed . Within seconds, the second lift arrived going up, which we entered. A member of your security team joined us in the lift to assist with pressing the button. He was courteous and professional throughout. However, just before the lift doors closed, another staff member who identified himself as the Front of House Manager entered and instructed us to exit the lift and follow him outside. We complied with this request without hesitation. Once outside, his manner became extremely rude and confrontational. His tone and choice of words were inappropriate and unnecessarily aggressive, which made the situation both uncomfortable and unwarranted given that we had done nothing wrong. He told us we should not speak to his five star guest that we’re in the lift. He then said that they made a complaint against. However, this would have been logistically impossible to do considering there was 10 seconds between their lift door and the other one opening. Two other members of staff came outside and informed him that he was mistaken and that we had, in fact, done nothing wrong. His response was to claim that we had “spoken back” to him. By this point, we no longer wished to proceed inside, although we did appreciate the support shown by the other staff members. Even if this had simply been a case of mistaken identity, it presented a clear opportunity for him to apologise. Instead, he continued to behave in an unprofessional and discourteous manner. This interaction left a very poor first impression and fell well below the standard of professionalism one would expect. Do not waste your time here.

The hotel is in a perfect location in the Gothic quarter. We used Expedia to book our room. Before we arrived, the hotel had reached out to us and sent us a form to fill out with choices you could make for pillows, bed linens, bed configuration, nice to have this kind of attention even before checking in! Everyone at the hotel were friendly, helpful. We ate at Caelis, their Michelin restaurant, superb! Expedia contacted us after 3rd day and asked us if we had been offered an amenity or upgrade to our room. Our room did not need an upgrade, it was perfect and had a view of the cathedral! When we returned from sightseeing, a bottle of red wine and chocolates were waiting for us. Our stay was so nice, thanks to all the bellman, staff for making our stay special. Breakfast was great, too!
