Hotel Sofia

We were staying here after a cruise. The check in was chaotic with many from our cruise checking in at same time. Since it was morning, they said the room would be ready at 3. When 3 came around, we asked and the reception guy said in 10 min in a not nice way. We went to sit down and wait. After half hour, my husband checked. They were having issues since they had over booked. At 4 pm, we were given a room. This hotel is very electronic. The elevators are computerized but VERY slow. Half of the time when we we called it, it would give us error message. Beds were lumpy. Definately not a 5 star experience.

The Grand Hyatt surprised me and exceeded my expectations for a hotel. As a football fan and FC Barcelona fan, the location is amazing. It’s within walking distance from the Camp Nou. The hotel is very clean and very modern. The staff was friendly and helpful upon arrival and throughout my stay. Javier was great! The hotel is close to a metro station which made it very easy to navigate throughout the city.

Je ne conseille pas cet Hôtel compte tenu du prix payé et de son standing "supposé". Des traces d'urine ou de reste de vomis sont restées collées au mur des toilettes durant tout notre séjour. Cela pose question du point de vue du nettoyage ... Le pire: un client a pris sa chambre pour une boîte de nuit à 01h30 en pleine nuit. Malgré notre appel à l'accueil nous confirmant une intervention rapide pour faire cesser ce bruit important, la fiesta s'est terminée à 04h30 ... Nous quittions l'hôtel le lendemain matin. Notre réclamation n'a aboutie que sur des excuses plus vaseuses les unes que les autres et aucun geste commercial. Inacceptable pour un établissement de ce standing !!! Lors d'un prochain séjour à Barcelone, je ne reviendrai pas dans cet hôtel et ne le recommande pas.

We found the hotel conveniently located near a metro stop for access to the rest of the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was nicely appointed, with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. The club access provided a wonderful breakfast buffet (largest I have ever seen, spanning 3 rooms) and evening tapas and beer/wine. Absolutely one of my best hotel stays ever.

One of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at. The staff were lovely, helpful and went out of their way to solve any issues (only one small one with check-in but that was our own fault for arriving early). Rooms were cleaned everyday to a high-standard and we appreciated the extra services the hotel offered such as providing items we may of forgotten to bring with us (even though we didn't use it ourselves, but the option was nice). Highly recommend! The location was also very useful, with lots of bus links into city centre and it also wasn't too far a drive from the airport. Both my friend and I would definitely return in future if we ever decide to revisit Barcelona for a holiday!!
