Open your eyes to verdant tree-lined streets, a vibrant atmosphere embracing the arts, and the beautiful sunshine and weather of the Mediterranean, as you arrive at the Hotel Sofia. Located in the heart of Barcelona's bustling shopping and business center, and just minutes from the sea, you will experience this city in style. Plush rooms are bright and inviting, crafted with soft pastel tones and dark, rich wood furniture and accents. Sunlight streams through large picture windows, while city views and the Mediterranean in the distance will take your breath away. Luxurious bathrooms offer complete serenity, while all the modern amenities and services leave you feeling like royalty. Relax and enjoy all that Barcelona has to offer from the lap of luxury at the Hotel Princess Sofia.
Wake to a beautiful day on your first morning, and enjoy a fabulous breakfast at Contraste Restaurant or at iQ smart fresh food, with a menu carefully designed by a nutritionist. Venture out for the day to discover this amazing city, and start with a stroll down the famed La Rambla. Enjoy fantastic and eclectic shopping, vibrant street performances, and delightful cafés where you can sit, relax and people watch. Make your way to La Sagrada Familia, a magnificent temple designed by Anton Gaudi and begun in 1881, where you can marvel at its massive structure, which is still being constructed today. Continue on to Gaudi's psychedelic Park Guell, on a hill overlooking the city, and enjoy a pleasantly strange afternoon amongst serpentine benches, brilliant tile mosaics, giant decorative lizards, and gingerbread-styled houses. In the afternoon stop in at a lovely café for a true taste of Barcelona and enjoy fabulous fresh seafood and pintxos, the delightful tapas-styled local snacks. Take the rest of the afternoon to relax with a sail along the Mediterranean coast, or be moved by an astounding performance at the Gran Teatre del Liceu or L'Auditori. That night, return to the hotel for a well-deserved massage at AQUA Diagonal Spa, then enjoy a fun-filled dinner in the hotel's very own German Biergarten. At Hotel Sofia, every day is truly this magical.

This hotel put the 'grand' in Grand Hyatt: Balancing big and professional with warmth and flexibility, we experienced this hotel staff to have a consistent culture of accommodation. The food in both the tapas/breakfast bar and rooftop Mayanta (Peruvian influenced) was exceptional. Just wish we got to experience Lena, and we made the mistake of not going to Philosophia for brunch on Sunday. :( Great location close to FC Barcelona, the big boulevard in front for walking, running and biking, and easy access to everything Barcelona has to offer. Concierge, doorman and check-in staff all made us realize that while boutique hotels are cool, we could really relax when we are taken so well care of. The spa made the stay extra special - we did not have treatments but EUR 25 to access the nordic spa hot-cold options was well worth it and the facilities were five star.

The hotel is good. I loved the warmth of the staff, especially Lorenzo, who helped me a lot in getting things as per my need. That meant a lot to me after a long tiring journey. (Not sure why the hotel staff felt that they didn't serve me well, and hence left an apology note!)

Simply the best in Barcelona. True to the brand motto, ‘Go Grand,’ Grand Hyatt Barcelona delivers superior service, large-scale comfort, and elevated experiences. It embodies all of this and stands as one of the finest hotels not only in Catalonia but in the world! Grand Hyatt Barcelona is just a five-minute walk from FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium, 400 metres from Maria Cristina Metro Station, and three metro stops from the bustling Plaza España too. L’Illa Diagonal Shopping Centre can be reached in a 12-minute stroll. The pool and spa are fantastic, this is high quality, high luxury at its best! Highly recommended!

We stayed here two nights. One night we paid for, another night as part of our Regent Seven Seas pre-cruise package. We paid an extra $100 to get into a room mid-morning, which was worth it having flown overnight from the US. We have been to Barcelona many times and usually stay in an apartment rental near the El Born area. This hotel is located in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city. The hotel was very busy. On our first morning, we waited in a very long line about 30-40 minutes to get into the breakfast restaurant, only to be seated in the bar area at a very low table. All the hot breakfast food was cold. They do have a nice rooftop restaurant, Maymanta, where we got drinks one afternoon.
